i tried giving my map to a friend of mine. on my screen the map is really really dark..the way its supposed to be, but on his its really bright everywhere. is there something wrong with my lighting?

Check his brightness, either on his screen or his brightness level in the console. The command is "brightness" and the default is 1.

ok i tried that and it didnt work, its really weird because everything in his map is lit...like even the tunnels are like daylight. i read somewhere that some flush thing might do something with lighting but i dont know anything about it

Are you positive you've got the same file? Check that the filesizes are identical, that should be a good measure. If his is a lot smaller, he's probably got a version without lighting for whatever reason (compiling error, not having run RAD).

Change r_fullbright to 0, then change the map to the map again. r_fullbright only takes effect if you change the map.

I'd strongly suggest you try it on a completely seperate machine.
