In hl, there's no such thing as a true circle... just polygons, I'm afraid.

for something close, set the arc radius to 360* and have the number of sides about 16, max, or it gets a bit messy.

use the cylinder thing, if not, use a model, DO you mean a sphere?

i saw the tutorial but it doesn't apply to hammer because u can't make a cone in hammer. (at least i don't think u easily can). I will make a model instead. Does any1 know of any good model makers besides milkshape coz milkshape didn't work.

You can make circles in Hammer, and you can make cones too. Use the spike tool to make cones, just adjust the number of sides.

Use the arch tool, click circle, adjust the number of sides and wall thickness.

I did both of these just before I posted this. It can be done. I would recommend using your calculator and divide 360/n sides. If it comes out a whole number you should be good.

if you really want a good sphere, make a model of it instead, halflife hates complex geometry

Spheres are a mess.
To undetailed they get ugly, to detailed they get all errorish and alot of faces :
I like to dress up doll's. But then again I have a flame sticking out of my head.

Do you ever read the entire thread?
Almost everyone before you has said the same thing.....

Spheres should be avoided in Hammer. They even look crap in Radiant.

There were quite a few spheres in redemption (brushes). They didn't look amazing, but you knew they were spheres. There's that thing that gman spins round at the start. Later on, there's something REALLY impressive: A hollowed out semisphere! It looks just like a satellite dish, which is what it's meant to be, even if it is a bit blocky. I think redemption deserves a lot more publicity, not all that many people realise it comes with retail cs. It's a brilliant mod though, and well worth playing.
