How can I do that? (without spirit, coding or changing the sound file) It will be also good without the sound! :tired:

Without changing the sound file, it would be pretty difficult :

Try makeing the ladder trigger another sound, but this one be louder than the origional sound, so that it kind of blocks it out. I know, its not a very good effect, but I'm not sure how to do it any other way.

(Thats what I did to get rid of the HEV suit talking thing)

Is it that bad that when you climb a rope or a montain it will sound like you are climbing a steel ladder?

Replace the sounds with silent ones, then.

Where d'heck is that sound! I know it's in the pak but where and what's his name? And after I found that sound will I need to put it in valve/sounds/... or import it into the pak?

the ladder sounds:
sounds/player/pl_ladder1.wav
sounds/player/pl_ladder2.wav
sounds/player/pl_ladder3.wav
sounds/player/pl_ladder4.wav

The best thing is to make a minimod and replace them with silent ones, and you won't hear a thing.

Thanks! You mean I should import them to the pak or just put them in valve/sounds/player? (and I understood the part that they should be silent)

Don't replace anything in the PAK, there's never any need. Files in Half-Lifevalvesoundsplayer replace the equivalents in PAKs.

Ok now I know! I'll also keep the original for the regular levels! :)

Thanks seventh and chickenfist! :D
