This has mutated into a "favourite film" thread. I dont go to the cinema very often because of f****** architecture homework, but these are the films I've seen this year.
-SW Episode III (cheesy dialogue and plot holes, but from a mappers POV I think CG art was very nice)
-Batman Begins (best of the Batman films. More understandable and everything sort of makes sense for once)
-War of The Worlds (Spielberg recycled things from his other films. Effects were nice but the ending was terrible)
-Fantastic Four (better than I expected after reading reviews, but suffers from being an "intro" movie. Jessica Alba looked good)
-A Sound of Thunder (a film about time-travel paradox in which they dont even bother explaining how they accomplish time-travel in the first place)

To be honest the only film in this year I saw was starwars 3.

I don't go to the cinema's often since my ears hurt from the noise.

Real pain..

I mostly watch 5 films in a row with friends. :glad:

Just as fun!

"The Constant Gardener" with Ralph Fiennes and Rachel Weisz is a political drama and a love story. The plot is based on a novel by John Le Carre, a story that expertly interweaves the conspiracy and the intimate relationship between a quiet diplomat and a vivacious activist.

The film excels at all levels, combining talents in direction (the director of "City of God"), cinematography, editing, and not the least, acting. The story is involving, and it has the feel of an epic, but without the banality of a typical Hollywood epic production. I rank it as the best movie I have seen this year.

Now, before you dismiss me as being a hyperbole, I can say the movie is in par with past greats, such as "Black Hawk Down" and "The English Patient". Its portrayal of the gritty and corrupt world of Africa juxtapose with the refined but equally evil hypocrisy of the developed countries.

One thing the film could have been better is in regards to innovation. It's a traditional film produced with no ground-breaking features, but it's a masterpiece nevertheless.

Three thumbs up.

hmmm...

I watched a program about the most seen 100 movies to the british public (decided by how many went to see the movie of question) quite a few surprises of what people went to see..

I can't remember them all, there doing the last 50 most seen films tonight. I wonder what the most seen was...
