Denver, Colorado - Too fuckin expensive so I take the bus

Really though. Conoco sells it for around $3.25, lots of stores like King Soopers that have gas stations sell it for about $2.50.

My car can't go anywhere.

That said, brakes seized, no air in tires, flat battery, no insurance, MOT is near done, no insurance, no tax, i cant drive (as in i dont know which pedal is which) and im opposite a copshop so i cant take it a stage.

I blame America for this...

What pisses me off is how the boards always read things like "76.9", "83.9". What is the bloody point? Dishonest bastards.

How the hell is petrol 'gas'? Isn't it a liquid?

Over here in Australia its currently sitting at about $1.20 per litre, which is damn expensive.

The UK has an oil supply too (from the north sea) but its not much, its mainly imported from foreign countrys like Venezuela. I don't know how much it costs in britain at the moment though...

I was told that its going to raise up to 5 or 6 dollars a gallon by monday. This issue had better be fixed soon, or people here are going to go nuts and lose hope. Looting, pillaging. Its going to be bad, real bad.
Posted 19 years ago2005-09-02 13:33:49 UTC Post #131790
12 SEK/l becomes 45.50 SEK/galon
45.50 SEK/galon = 6 USD/galon (im not shure that ive calculated this right)

Gas prices where I live (Matthews, NC, USA) are around $3.00 but gaining price every day so it shouldn't be long before it breaks four bucks.

I doubt the main oil imports for america are from southamerica. I'm looking alittle more east, in the middle.

you should go with hybrid cars if you want to save money, i heard that theirs a hybrid car that runs on hydrogen extracted from water. Which can be refilled at Europes first Hybrid 'petrol' station. It can run for 2 hours going 80 constantly and its only emissions are warm air and the occasional drop of water :)

And there are tons of other types of hybrids. The future is the way to go! :D

EDIT:And if you thought oil was expensive now just wait to see what the prices will be like in the next 5-10 years.

Seventh - The point is that they charge percents of single cents (Or your equivalent, pence or whatever?) - Doesn't seem like much but it does if you're buying 10 gallons or something.

If you think that were gonna run out of oil soon its not actually the case. The state of Colorado alone is sitting on top of more oil than the entire Middle East. Well over a trillion barrels. Only problem is that it is in a form called oil shale, which is more difficult to extract. But now that oil prices are going up they are researching how to extract it and hopefully find a cheap way to do it. Too bad our politicians are too dumb to realize this.

That's Telekinesis m0p. :P

I heard on the radio in 1906, during the San Francisco Earthquake, police were told to shoot looters on site!
Posted 19 years ago2005-09-02 23:07:35 UTC Post #131926
seadoo + trailer = good looting

everyone gets pawned when they get hit with a storm like that m0p, the sheer size of the effected area makes it a logistical nightmare. + it was just under a class 5 when it hit, and that entire area is either below sea level or flat. so the water damage alone ruines everything

but nonetheless we did get pawned

Colorado seems like its about to become extremely rich. But it still doesn't matter, if we continue were going to continue polluting. Im not saying oil is evil, or that the industrys are. Its just that if we continue this the next 50 years could have some severe problems to deal with. And even with all the oild stuck under colorado, how long will it take until its used up? Theres about 500 million cars in this world. Theres 10's of thousands of aircraft, and ships. Thats a huge usage of fuel there.

In 2002 the amount used was that America leads the world in fuel usage (a whooping 10.4 million barrels per day) followed by Japan (5.3 million barrels per day) and then Germany [2.6 million barrels per day)

Thats just nuts. Those 3 countrys alone use 17.3 million barrels per day. Where does it all go (sorry if it seems like im bashing America on this, because its pretty the whole freakin' worlds fault anyway)

The point of this anyway is that hybrid cars are the way to go! :D

I heard Oil will run out in about 50 years. IMO, I think cars will be hybrid or electric. Or, I can imagine in the future nuclear or fusion! A car crashes - The nuclear reactor flies out and smashed into someones house, while its open or Hmm, I think you will need: 2 New tyres, maybe new shocks and at least 2 new reactors

Kid parks its hover car ,in front of the house and enters.'Hi grandpa,I ve got a new hover car,and battery is so damn cheap. What was cars like in your age?'
Saco:Well,we had a black flamable liquid called oil in my age.And it was f***** expensive. So we had to take the bus.
Kid:Whats a bus!
