I'm having a problem with my HL1 based mod and Steam.

Problem 1:
When you go to change controls you get this:

Where is the list?!
Yet on non-Steam Half-life you get this:

No problem there!

Problem 2:
Also, how do you change the splash for a Steam HL mod? Normal non-Steam methods have not worked.

Problem 3:
How can I get an icon working on the Steam "Play Games" menu?

I wrote a tutorial about this, but it has not been added

Anyways, the change controls thing, there is a file somewhere,
but I don't remember the name of it. It's in gfx/shell or something.
All the controls are listed there.

The files i got in gfx/shell are; kb_act.lst kb_def.lst strings.lst
They're the same in both my directories (steam/non-steam)
But can only see controls for non-steam.

Is there extra and/or differentley named files for Steam?

now all you have to do is put those loading splash screens into yourmodfolder/resource/background

The controls thing I just sorted, copied AG's kb_act.lst and kb_def.lst and going to edit it to suit my mod.
Strange that the original kb_act.lst and kb_def.lst won't work with steam?!

So now only 1 problem remains...
The icon, can it be done?! If so how?

Icon... logo... same thing!
The little orange lamba symbol that half-life has, or the blue one blue-shift has.
Can you have your own for 3rd party games?

I already have the icon, using it for my shortcut on non-steam, just want it on the "Play Games" menu.

I'm not sure whether you can. I think so, though, and I remember it being something Targa-d. I think I found a thread covering that and the splash screens on the IOS mod forum.
