Okay, I haven't mapped for HL1 in ages, only HL2.
(Yeah, i searched the forum but no one is as noobish as me. :P )
Ok, I got a light, I want it to turn on when I walk into the trigger_once, wich I do right on spawn (you spawn inside the trigger_once)
The light got the flag "initially dark" pressed, yes.
And got the thame "light"
so, the trigger_once target is light.
And the trigger_once also has a delay time of 5 seconds.
I thought that would work but it didn't.
The lamp starts on. :S

I also tried to open a door with a trigger on the same way but that didn't work ether!
What's wrong? :S

if light entity a name it should be off when you start. Try without the initially dark flad. I don't use it, it works for me. What does that flag do anyways?

well, i've never had problems with that... does the trigger_once have a property called "trigger state"? that has to be set to "on" (I think) And make sure that you have the names right (i'm sure you do, but triple-check, just in case!)

In HL2, it makes the light start off.. :S

delete the entities and start over! Sometimes that works.

Fragmeister: When you say delete all entitys, do you mean doors (brushes tied to entitys) and stuff like that too? (+ usual entitys of course)

well you're working with just a trigger_once and a light, delete those two, and recreate them. Actually, delete them, save your map, close hammer, and reload it. I've had some trouble with brush based entities and hammer.

I found out the problem...
Don't call it "light" just tried it, when its called "light" it doesnt work but I renamed it to "lite1" and ta-da.
Must be because its the same as the entity name!

But fragmeister, my door didn't work ether, and that was connected to a trigger to. :/ :(

BTW, I just discovered that the door did work, I was planning to post it and try your idea frag. ^^
The door was supposed to go up but I put the yaw as 90 (wich was forward)
And then, I didn't notice that it moved. :)
