Right, he's my set up...
Room 1 has 2 env_lasers, you press a switch it turns one on and one off, to the make the effect of the switch changing its colour.

Room 2 has 2 env_beams set to rings travelling down tubes.

You walk in the Room 1 can flip the switch as many times as you like, then go into Room two, have a look at the beams.

Now you're thinking, whats this guy getting at?
The problem arises when you return to Room 1 use the switch then return to Room 2, the env_beams are off?
WTF?!
I've looked over and over through the targets and names of everything, there is no possible way they can be linked. Yet in that particular scenario the env_beams turn off.

Any idea why they do this would be helpful, cheers!

Does anything change if you don't press the switch?

If not, and things do change when you press the switch, there must be a link. Keep looking.

Just played it again, nothing to do with the switch...
I go to the beams, see them once, when I leave the room and go back they're gone! :s

Maybe they're not infinite?
Is the "life" property of the beams set to 0?

Try 'developer 2' in the console ? that should list triggering of entities, and, I believe, what triggered them.

may I ask,, what's the difference betwen laser and beam?
Is the env_laser the one that is used as sensors for, example, the turrets in HLsp?

env_laser uses itself as a start point and targets one object.
env_beam targets two objects and is seen between them, you can have a ring or have two moving ends.
