Been working on this since yesterday, after founding a couple o bugged bleurprints i decided to go with these.

THe modeling is going fairly fast since i know the shapes of this car very well, au contrait to the laguna, wich isnt finishd yet for those wondering.

Roughly 5 hours of modeling, probably less. And a note about the headlights, its not done yet, those will be adjusted. And offcourse a grill will be modeled in.

That's how modelling is generally done, you know :).

Yup, i crop the bleurprint up, then i put it on a plane with the corresponding width and height.

Then i outline the shapes extruding from a single plane. Though car modeling is considered one of the hardest things to do, in the beginning it was hard, now it is rather easy, especialy if you know the car.

Outer shell is finisdh, as you can see i gave the windows thickness by extruding the edge inside, then i extruded it down to show the wall of the car for a start. Then i move on to the dashboard, wich only will be finishd when i convert the mirror to a editble mesh.

Really, its overrated on how hard it really is. It is all pure logics if you can see it :) .

Here is a fancy screenshot of the highpoly model, roughly 25.000(25 000)(25000) triangles.

Posted 18 years ago2005-12-16 21:14:33 UTC Post #152711
Pepper are you better ay modeling than level editing? :D
Posted 18 years ago2005-12-16 21:45:40 UTC Post #152713
Wow! I hope you make those cars in a variety of colours! :)

I'd love to see a pink car in-game. :glad:
Posted 18 years ago2005-12-17 09:04:36 UTC Post #152789
Yeah, im planning on a couple of different colour version, havent decided on wich on though, probably a red one and something with flames and snarks :) .

Um, i dont think you can draw a certain line with being better at one thing, since modeling and level design are 2 different things wich surprisingly have a lot incommen.

Again, thanks for all of the compliments, it only takes a lot of practice to do this, at some point you can see how a real world object would be in-game and how you would build it.
