I know this has been asked loads of times before, but lots of stuff has happened lately and I wanna know ure LATEST opinions.

So which console(s) will u be getting?
Posted 18 years ago2005-10-25 07:54:34 UTC Post #143556
None... why bother when you've got a high end PC.
Although I would consider a Nintendo because they don't port games to PC that often.
New XBOX and PS3 are near enough same spec, and they're almost PC's in their own right now.

None. Same grounds.

True but with consoles there are always more users because of compatibility.
You also have the chance to use a really good controler withj universal suppourt for all games. (unlike pc gamepads which don't get much suppourt).

A mouse and a keyboard beat any gamepad for FPSing.

what about racing? They never took off on the PC.

Racing games suck anyway, I got a USB wheel 2 feet left of me that was only used once.

Probably none. If I did get one, it'd be the PS3 though.

Xbox sucks.

PS3 most likely because I enjoy playing it with friends...PC is harder to play with friends.

I disagree, with the PC its a lot more accessible. A lot more people have a PC than consoles. With PC's its just the specs that are annoying.

Give it 6 months and none of the consoles will seem special. We'll haver toasters faster than the revolution. Seriously I found a toaster with a 7800 GPU the other day!

I won't buy any one of them until the prices go down. and the one i'll buy is the one with the best games.

i'd probably get a PS3, but i'll never be able to afford them for a long long time. Besides i've heard that the XBOX's first batch has got some hidden bugs.

hidden bugs.
That's Microsoft for you! :thefinger: to them!

I hate it when people just make up things like....... Hidden Bugs........If you wanna argue against a console give real reasons.

No console for me. I understand why some people like them, and from a developers point of view it's less trouble with different system specs, but a PC is much more versatile for me and that's an important factor as well. I don't just play games, I program and create levels, models, sites... and a PC is often upgradeable, which isn't a strong point for consoles.

maybe you should take a better look before pointing fingers
Besides i've heard
But PC's tend to be on the exspensive side.

None - consoles = shiz

Every game you get for console, you get for PC 2 months later, 10 times better and a bit cheaper

A very maddox-like attitude.

Yeah. I barely ever play games at the moment, and mine still keeps me entertained.
But PC's tend to be on the exspensive side.
Oh yeah, as opposed to the new consoles?

What you have to think is which one will last longer?
and I think I've said this before but I'll say it again.........
In 2 years time all the consoles are gonna seem pathetic spec wise just like the PS2 does. The PS2 has 32MB RAM! That does eem pathetic doesn't it?
And all these rumours about Microsft upgrading to HD-DVD in a few years are pretty bogus to me.......... Whats gonna happen to everyone who has a DVD drive?

One more thing, pc's will always rule because they can do more, can you use MS word or Openoffice Writer on the 360? NO.

That said I still want one..............
:glad:

If I'd be a real gamer (not a Warcrack whore) I would definately get a console. Now a days, a new PC title is either a sequel to a popular FPS or a (MMO)RPG.

Consoles suck. Especially Xbox (since it's developed by moronic idiots with microscopic brains, ahem Microsoft).

What's so maddoxish about waiting to see how everything evolves?

Xbox 360. I like consoles because it's 10x easier to play with friends, just plug in, instead of PC's have to carry everything, unless you have a laptop or something. I really don't like many comp games.

If I get a next gen console its going to be a PS3, I've always likes Sony better. Though I'm probably just going to stick to my good old pc.

ahem...

There are specific reasons someone would play a game on either a computer or a console...

Console:
  • Can play with other people who are sitting right next to you... social thing
  • easier to use... hence the controller rather than a keyboard or some attachment
  • Easier to run.. Put a game in, play it.
  • Plugs inta ya Big ol' TV...
  • Storage... Its smaller...
  • Portable (This is asuming that you use a desktop instead of a labtop for gaming)
Computer:

-You know ;)

If some-one came up with a good 2player PC system where your standing next to each other I would buy it! But i guess the only way to acheive that is to have multiple keyboard ports, and plus most computer probably couldn't handle two versions of HL2 running at the same time  .

How about those new Xbox360 PC controllers? It's possible to have multiplayer in the same room with them theoretically.
