So I finally decided to get into Source mapping. Im fairly experienced with HL mapping, any suggestions of where I should start out with Source?

I'm looking at starting with Source soon and I've been told to just start out simple. Like copying a non-source map you've already done.

Yeah, start out simple. Most detail is done with models so the brushwork is best kept simple. Play around a bit with displacements and try to get familiar the new entity I/O system somewhat. There's a wealth of new entities and stuff available, but you don't need everything immediatly. Just experiment a bit and try to get used to the high model usage. That's probably the biggest change for HL mappers.

Put some physics props in some snazzy water. There, the full Source experience :).

the problem i had when i started for source, was i still mapped for HL1. it all seemed very blocky..

pah.

Source as far as i can tell's only limits, are what your PC can handle. The engine itself can handle pretty much anything you throw at it

What do you ask for?
Permission, or Forgiveness?
Do you ask to do it, or do you do it then ask?

Ah, don't be so sure of that. It really doesn't like 32 sided cylinders, I can tell you that.

The Source engine does have limits (most of which have been reached by RabidMonkey, and some recently by myself). You can go crazy, but be careful.
