I know this is a stupid question but how do u replace a texture with another texture? I tried doing it but when it replaces, it replaces like the whole map's textures! And how to u apply textures to a specific face of an object? Thanks.

Read this tutorial. In fact, I would (seriously) read every tutorial on this site. I have done about four times.

If no object is selected when you click Replace, it will default to replacing everything (Mark Objects will be disabled). So make sure to select at least one brush first before clicking Replace. Then the Marked Objects option will be enabled and selected by default.

use the texture application tool, not the replace thingy.

No, not the texture tool! That one never gives the option of "Marked objects only". You need to read the tut, then select a brush, then use the other replace button.

Once again the amazing amount of diversity in Hammer shows itself.
There is more than one way to replace/change texture on an existing brush.
Try the methods above and work with the one you feel comfortable with.

just don't forget that sometimes, Hammer leaves unused textures in the compile, whihc affects your texture memory usage.
