I'm sorta stuck. I'm not sure how to implement the following idea:

I wanna have a postboard, on the frontpage of my site. Nothing too fancy just a little box where all the old posts are stored. I wanna use it so users of my site can leave each other messages or requests. My site will have limited users so theres no need to worry about it not being the right thing............unless you can tell me something better. The real problem is I don't know much PHP. Can anyone point me to any pre-made stuff. Lame I know but I don't want to spend too much time on this aspect of the site.

Sorry if yoiu can't understand what I want from my post. I'm kind of really tired right now........ :zonked:

Lol. I tried inplementing the txtbox shoutbox in my website, but it doesn't work! I did everything the readme told me to do, including CHMOD the shouts.txt. But it doesn't work. :/

1. Does the database need premisions to write and edit it self?
2. Is javascript enabled?

am i right in saying that FTP doesn't allow you to upload folders? Its a real hassle for me to install things because I have to upload every single file and create every folder! Some-one help!

Any decent FTP client should enable you to upload whole folders. I personally recommend SmartFTP.

He just spoke about chmodding shouts.txt... it doesn't use a proper database.

I have nearly got the shoutbox in my site. I just can't fit it anywhere! It wont go in any layout tables for some reason and to be honest I'm crap at PHP and most Web related languages............except HTML lol :D

Oh and to top it off I have another problem.
here check it out : http://hl2.farvista.net/

Plz. don't comment on the site. It is no-where near finished. Im just testing my skills and figuring out what I want. Just comment on the problems:

-Ad-Banner's
-Shoutbox layout
and everything else

Put the shoutbox far to the left, and put the news to the center/right instead. Also, it might be a good idea to use the C-box if you're not as experienced with.. stuff.

Also, don't use tables! Use <div>s instead, they're much better.
For the banners, switch host.
