9 total fans M!!?? Does your PC move around at all. I thought I had the most fans (6 LEDs). But 9, that's crazy. I forgot to mention that my PC has a 2.5 Ghz Athlon XP processor and custom sinks. I used to have a 6200 OC too but it didn't run HL2 smoothly so I sold it. My 6800GT OC has 2 fans that also light the case.

A piece of crap. Literally.
Stop whinging, you'll have a better PC than most of us shortly :P.

AMD Athlon XP 2400+ o/c past 3200+ core speed (2.32GHz)
1024MiB mismatched generic RAM (heh)
RADEON 9800 Pro 128MiB
Audigy ZS 2
Tagan 480W PSU (supreme!)
Zalman cooling (ditto)

I'll get an Athlon64 in the summer. Gig or two of LL matched paired RAM, and possibly an X1800.

1 GB DDR II SDRAM-400 MHz
256 MB ATI X600 Radeon Mobility
100GB 5400rpm Hard Drive
XP Home SP2

Also, with most of these minor tweaks excepteh Speed Switch and TuneXPv1.5 thingie.

Perhaps instead of showing just our specs all the time, we should make/use a benchmark source map--HL1 and HL2 or whatever--, and then list our compile times using the same options, and subsequent game performance or something.

Methinks that would be cool...
Posted 19 years ago2005-11-16 06:31:52 UTC Post #147351
Hey, that could actually be a useful resource. Those willing to be benchmarked could compile four maps: two big, two small; two well-made, two poorly-made. The times and specifications could be recorded. Sweet idea, dude :P.

Well thank-you :)

I've got plenty of wide-open, poorly construckted ones to donate :glad:

Neat Idea using multiple maps as well!

My Motherboard has no AGP ports... I cant get a new one because it would not fit in the dell case and what with a new car and all, we cant afford to splash out on things atm anyway.
I have very high quality speakers (Sanyo B10 twins) but they are wasted on a really. really. REALLY appaulingly bad sound card which guess what? is dell integrated so even if we got a new one, we'd need a new motherboard to place it... I really. Really. REALLY hate DELL

I've got a sony pcg-k45.
3.2ghz p4 w/ht
512 mb ram
128mb ram shared with video card (so windows has 384 mb)
dvdrom-cd r/rw
15.4" widescreen(1280x800)
80gb hd (a slow one)

I've also got a 19" crt, and soon will have a logitech wireless kb/mouse combo. I plan on adding at least another 512mb of ram and a faster hd, when I can afford it. (translation: after college.)
