Im taking Kasperg up on his sugustion and makeing a thread to discuss to a degree, what you are mapping now. and to make sure this doesn't devolve into spam. I will request that you add screens, talk about your map, give us some detail. tell us what the map is about, what theme it is.

Ill start by saying that im working on my part of Half-life: Hostage Situation, you can see the thread for that.

But, when Mapping for that gets a little dull, I put a bit of time into my first DM map. a little fort on a beach, very yellowie

I'm making a library, even tough the screenshot looks nothing like it (no books yet). I have applied a photoshop filter because my teachers dont like Half-life textures.

I'm working on a walk-through example of improving a map with common errors, with an audio commentary, and cameras and stuff for "before" shots, probably. You've mostly already seen the headphones I modelled for it.

Mapping for me isn't an option right now. (POS replacement monitor. Not fit for Graphical work whatsoever. Which limits way more than just my mapping work..)

So I'm primarily busy writing, playing Counter-Strike and programming a Java application for work. (Administration app.)

I'm working on the second version of my origional map, with better architecture and a little more humor. Unfortunatly, I don't have a screenshot now because a screeshot wouldn't do my map justice at this point.

BL: Nice map. Is that the part where the spire shoots through the spaceship?

Next room is the start of my favorite chapter to make,
an old broken elevator shaft that will take you to the top of the ship.

The only problem is!!!

The elevator is broken, so you have to complete puzzels and shit to get up to the top...

Fun stuff to make...

No time for mapping now... school sucks.
Plus, I've joined a band, so I'm trying to write some material in my spare time...
I'll hopefully map a bit during the holidays, and continue a map that's probably not even 10% done yet.

The architecture is really great, BL.
But you must do something bout the lighting and the textures.. They're a complete mess.. :confused:

Not currently mapping, wrighting script and making textures for my upcomming mod. Don?t have a screenshot at the moment, no maps yet, well i do have maps but that?s just test maps to make sure everything is possible and can be done with exelent result.

A little project change, me and pungie are going to make the most ugly, wierd and fun cs maps we can make, in a small amount of time (2 maps a day)

I'm not mapping, but I am currently detailing the .pak file for the resources section. Gman helped me out by making transcripts of the speech sound files, and if anyone else wants to help by detailing the .bsp's PM me. Don't worry Seventh, I'll get this finished if it kills me! :D

Anyway, I'm currently trying to get inspiration by playing custom half-life maps online..

I probaly won't do the source compo seeing I don't like the subject and it's to much of a time-waste as I probaly won't win a award..

Also, why habboi did you leave "nightfall". It looks so great!

Currently working on dm_mudanchee for HL2DM, but no big progress since the last media update. School has been busy lately, but now that I'm back on schedule I should be able to get some significant stuff done. More to come later. :)

Those textures make it look funky, not really what I'd expect from a spaceship really. Especially the red and blue is too prominent and those oversized lamps don't do good either.

I'll search for some textures I once made for a spaceship interior this afternoon, after I get back from school. Maybe you could use them.

Besides the library and the base map for the Half-life1 competition, I am planning two maps. One for HL and the other for source.
The half-life map will be a sequel to tp_sacrifice.
The source map will be based on some drawings made by Giovanni Battista Piranesi in the 18th century. As you can see, there's a lot you can do with pictures like that one.

Yay, media update time for de_venice!

My favourite shot so far.
Excuse the dev textures, but its still all WIP at the moment. Thanks to Trapt for compilling the map and adding his special touch to the lighting, which has come out extremly well.

Here's the set.

EDIT: I am currently looking for a Gondola prop for use in my map. If anyone knows where I can get my hands on one, or can model one for me, I'd be very grateful (and you'd earn yourself a position in the readme file ;) )

I had a layout, but when Trapt playtested it he found that it was too small. Its been extended now, so I'm adding the extra bits as we speak.

Inspired really...

The only reference I've used is a pic and some scenes from Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. Apart from that, its pretty much constructed from my own idea of what it looks like.

I think that the orange-ish texture could be made to look more old, worn off.. Now it looks brand new and it somehow doesn't fit in.. :
