I'd really like to make some big video screens for my map, to display some short animations that I have made, so I was wondering how I would go about importing my video files? how possible is this?

Sprites or switchable textures are the only ways without new code. Can you use custom code?

Actually, that was for HL. But doing the same in HL2 would probably need some custom code as well.

Alternately, you can use animated textures or use camera entities to display another part of your map on a texture (screen). Might become quite some work anyway.

hhmm, because i was hoping to add some flash animations, just basic ones, i guess i could convert the animation into sprites and show it like that... I'll have a play, and read that article, thanks for the advice yo :

ooohhh, i hope I can find a way to add avi to source!!! It must be possible if they did it for HL1!! cool!

I'm sure you could use camera's and an animated texture like water...Of course when I say water I mean only as an example of a mutliple moving texture.
