Just today my computer has been running really slow and I was wondering if There were somethings running that could be stopped to make my computer go a bit faster, I've got a shot here of my task manager. If you could take a look and see what i could stop. And if you could tell me how to get the top thing back with the minimize and close buttons on it would be great.

Maybe you just have a trojan or some spyware? :)
They usually slow things down..
Try ad-aware

Don't see anything suspicious there. A load of resource-wasting crap, but nothing malicious-looking. Get rid of any adware/spyware that Ad-Aware and Spybot pick up, run a virus scan or two, and be more careful in future if they do find anything.

If you really want to bring back the Task Manager's menu bar, just double-click on a blank expanse of grey. You're better off getting the supreme Process Explorer from those genii at Sysinternals, though. You can even have it replace Task Manager in the shortcuts in the Windows GUI.

If you're still having problems, post a list from Process Explorer and give us a few more details (when it started, etc.).

Tons. Google for the process names.

Use Starter to stop stuff from running every time you start up. Don't worry, none of it is critical; if something stops working because of over-zealous disabling, you'll be able to get it going again.

1?) try to just reboot your computer,

2?) remove useless programs from your start menu (stuff that are loaded when your comp is booting),

3?) look for spywares/trojans/virus etc,

4?) check if your harddrives aren't like 99% full, if so erase pron, old cracked games you don't play anymore, mp3 you don't listen anymore, avi files etc, (put them on CD or another hdd), depending of your operating system, your harddrives should never be more that 75% full (to let windows and other softwares some space to swap datas on)

5?) run scandisk and defrag,

6?) check if your processor fan is turning right, that the power stuff is running fine, that there no dust on your mother board, that your memory cards are well plugged etc...

if everything is fine, this is just either you are running too much software for your computer, and/or your hardware is getting old ...

Crap, 75% you say. D has got 2% free and E has 15% free. :(

Well, what is on there? A system drive certainly needs a fair amount of free space, and a swapfile-holding partition does too. Not all, though. I have an 8GiB partition with 180kiB free, and it's not a problem at all, because I only have one massive file on it. If you have, like me, a partition for documents and little stuff alone (i.e. no programs which have lots of big temporary files, etc.), you could cheerfully fill it without any performance problems.

Well My D drive was meant to be only for Programs and E for documents, because our friend said it would screw the E drive up it i put some programs on it I did and nothing, D is full of all my old crap like the non steam HL which i need to get rid of, E has steam on it and some other shit so I guess i could free up 2 GB on my D and some on E.

Man, that sounds like a mess. You could always non-destructively re-partition your drives with something like PartitionMagic.

Wow, that's a big tasklist.

I was thinking you could check if your driver is updated or I suggest http://www.majorgeeks.com/download4062.html if it's just the speed of your games running
