Anyone realise spirit uses an MS-DOS launcher instead of a normal .exe
Valve Hammer is'nt accepting this and won't count it as an .exe ? WTF should i do!(yes , that sentence does make sense)

That will make no difference whatsoever. edit:
I think i see why you said that. It's not VHE , it's the MS-DOs thingy.
it's an APPLICATION and not an EXE .THats why VHE is'nt accepting it.It on ly accepts .exe 's and even says 'type in the loacation of the .exe' on the build programs part of the tools section on VHE

I'm confused.. Just use the spirit.fgd, and put the DLL in DLLs folder. :S
What's the problem?

Ah, could you specify the whole question?
Else, I think you got a problem running your mod after compile in hammer.
It wants an exe, right?
Two ways to fix.

1. simple
Just type the direction to hl.exe instead!
And then activate your mod from there with console activated.

2. more confusing
Take an exe from an other mod, and just change the direction in the properties.
For example, "HL.exe -game dod" change to: "HL.exe -game YOUR_MOD"
Then edit the hammer direction to that new exe file.

I did like that..
remember to type "-game spirit"

(You need the "-")

And also, it isn't the name of your mod wich you type, it's the name of the folder it is in.
So,, "hl.exe -game FOLDER"

Mr.Good Map, spirit is a hl1 mod it's exe is the same one as hl1's. It's the same as opposing force or unofficial mods. To make maps for a mod just add in the configurations, in the mod directory value the directory of the mod: half-life/<mod name>
And in the bulild program change the place you put the bsps in to half-life/<mod name>/maps
In the last parameter in the compiling(executing) add -game <mod name> :)

Is this really that big of a deal? Just compile your map externally with a batch compiler or something and run Spirit when the compile is finished. or do -game spirit like everyone else is saying.

The DOS-box is run when you double click it and is preset with a list of automatic input commands when you run it. It runs those commands(automatically, duh) and doing so launches half Life in "spirit" mode.[/useless information]
