Especially for Source, yeah.

Well, anyone can find some time to do a map in 49 days, specially knowing that whatever you do (even if it's unfinished) will probably get you a trophy. I'm even tempted to make a map myself :(

Can I make a totally square room, fill it with about a hundred Zombies, a crowbar, filled with trigger_hurt and submit that? :P

I think some careful planning is needed for the next Source competition to make it easier. A singleplayer intro map is a LOT harder in Source than it is in HL1. I think simple "Map From Base" compo's work a lot better because part of the map is already done.

I agree with Ant

I was pumped for a source compo, but sadly, and ill admit, im too much of a noob at skybox's to make a "3d skybox" and for that reason (and me getting abunch of good games from xmas) i didnt make one, a source compo of an older hl1 compo would be good?

I think the competition rules were a bit misinterpreted. There are infinite maps that would respect the rules and still be easier to make and less time-consuming than the HL2DM map from base (I know what I'm talking about hehe).
I might actually make a combine transport hub this summer! :cyclops:

I was just thinking and I don't fully understand the idea of the HUB...
So a HUB is a place where main transport goes? Such as an airport?

An airport, a bus station, a train station...
From wikipedia
A transportation hub is where traffic is exchanged across several modes of transport.
Although you could have used only one mode of transport.

If there is only one then whats the point? Extend the time.
Posted 18 years ago2006-01-20 18:53:52 UTC Post #158807
make a different one, the hub one was a bit vague and the rules were too restricting :P
Posted 18 years ago2006-01-20 19:06:52 UTC Post #158809
Plus my HUB idea is erm too big to make :D
Maybe i'll enter the next competition...Sorry I didn't submit.

The fact that you HAD to have a 3D skybox was kinda over-the-top...but...hey.....rules is rules....
Posted 18 years ago2006-01-20 20:41:43 UTC Post #158825
It was specified that the skybox rule was there to keep people from making an indoor only map. There's no point in making a transport nexus if you dont care for what's one meter outside your building...

I think seventh should code in a little snippet where it displays a trophy image with something added to indicate that it was a default win
Posted 18 years ago2006-01-23 17:40:54 UTC Post #159260
Nah, not much point. People can see that if they click the trophy.

I say etend the deadline, if not just keep the current page, it also says "or no enteries submitted", which is quite true, not enough were submitted. :)

Too late. I'll put up the result, uh, later sometime, and then post Muzzle's server competition officially.
