I thought maybe I should post my progress here so you guys can tell me how big I'm going to lose in the HLDM Contest. :)
I love getting comments from people and I know I am far from good at this so I'll take all criticism as help to improve.

Hit meh!

I have just started texturing and I'm not sure about the current ones. And I will add a few more rooms/areas on the second floor too.

Looks nice indeed. Texturing looks bland though, but im sure that'll change overtime. :)

I'll make sure I study the texturing tutorials closely. I have never really picked textures with care before, just wrote something like "wall" or "lab" in the search and then picked one. I want that to change though so any tips you can give me will be welcome. I'll start in the tutorials though.

First shot is quite dark. Personally I prefer lighter maps, not only because opponents are better visible but also because they seem to be more 'inviting' to play in.

I think the central, water-filled, area could use a little more details and some better textures on the upper platforms, but it looks like those are still in the works so I guess that's going to be ok. :)
What looks more troublesome is it's layout: with so much water, is it easy to navigate around in? How easily can you get across? It may be ok to jump around but being able to walk across will probably be much better for the gameflow there.

Good luck, I'm looking forward to how you finish this. :)
