In case you haven't heard, the sequel to Issues and PQL is currently in development: Issues 2! This Spirit of Half-Life powered modification was a large map-pack put together by some of the most talented mappers around. Linked by an ingenious Hub system, PQL and Issues featured some amazing maps (including some from our very own kol).

Firebinder has just publicly announced that Issues 2 is in the works. Currently, kol, Hugh, and most likely myself will be contributing to it. If you're interested, check out the site and see if you've got what it takes to put together a short set of singleplayer maps. Good luck!

Oh man, just when I get into Source mapping an awesome oppertunity like this comes allong! Grr.. I will have to give this some though.

More details for everyone:

Custom textures : yes
Custom sounds : yes
Must be compatible with spirit of HL.

i wonder if i could finish and use my Renegade mod for this? It would definately help by forcing me a deadline and giving me some incentive. Is there a particular story maps must adhere to?? :

There's no story to adhere to at all, really. :) I worked on Issues 1 and although there was a "story," it basically only existed in 3 maps, the rest were just random maps that people made.

I recomend anyone with any will to release a map for HL1 to give issues a try.

It's a great way to get stuff released.

I'm in. I'm not working on anything for HL1 anymore so this is perfect.

Plus I might actually release somthing! Ha ha. Godd news for all. You can all revel in my amazingly hand-crafted hallways of ambient lighting and beautiful architecure rivelling that of Kasperg and Rimrook.

Well i like the idea of working with this, ive looked at the site and since its still under construction i got no info there, so can anyone tell me of an approximate time constraint, and is there any limit to size, custom stuff etc. Need Info People! im interested.. :lol:

Strider - There aren't limits to size/custom stuff so long as the computer doesn't explode. :P r_speed limit will unfortunately be around 1000, but it can be higher than that so long as it's not for extended periods of time, and not too much higher. And you can have 4 connected maps, which I assure you is a lot more than you'd want to map anyways. :P

G_KID - It's SoHL, but that doesn't mean you have to use its features... you could make a regular 'ol single-player map if you wanted.

Or do you mean I have to use spirit, but I don't have to use spirit's features?

Both of those are right. :) If it's made under standard HL, it'll run under Spirit. You don't really HAVE to use Spirit except to play the overall mappack when it's finished, because even though your map won't be necessarily using the features, other ones will be.

Yeah, fo sho! Too many bored l337ites working on it to quit. :P I know a lot of people would rather map for Source, but mapping for HL1's easier and takes less time. It's not like this is gonna have a r_speed limit of 1000 or anything. :P

From the Reissues forum - "Last Call for mappers - sign up now or forever regret it :)"

So, I'd recommend making a post saying that you're going to join, and then join if you can. It's not like you're going to be hunted down if you don't finish anything or decide to back out.

I wouldn't say there's any real story, last time we just did our own thing, it was a few select maps that had the "real story" in them and that wasn't forced upon the mappers, either. So, if there is a real story, which I doubt there will be, don't worry about it. :cyclops:

Bahh, I didn't see the thread in time. To late for me, they have all the mappers they need and I don't like being a replacement.

Anyway whats the need of this mod? I can just submit my little minimod by myself. This mod after all is just a huge map pack.

Well, I'm steadily working on my map, in between work on de_venetia. I must admit, its coming along fairly nicely. HL1 mapping is a breeze after working on Source for a year...
