I personally think the entire Island is some sort of weapon. According to the Orientation footage there are 5 stations on the island, and according to the french chick there is a radio tower on the island, and that 'monster' is some sort of defence system for the island, mechanical too by the sound of it. Schwat do you think?

Lost is a horribly boring show. Not to mention it's pretty unrealistic.

Boring? I dont know, its more mysterious and its definately building up tension. Unrealistic? Nearly everything happening on the island is unrealistic, unusual or abnormal - it's supposed to be.

LOST is awsome!

I think it is some kind of island containing experiments? or weapons? That robot thing...Lock didn't seem too scared to be dragged away...

The Polar Bears!...
Some possible explanations as to why the polar bears (theres been 2 on the show) may be there.

1) Walt some how 'conjured' them up much as he did that exotic bird in his flashback. He was reading a comic book with polar bears in it when his dad (Michael) angrily tossed it in the fire, also his dad gave him a plush polar bear toy when he was really young. Walt is definately gifted somehow.

2) Station 3 ('The Swan' where the hatch leads to) is described as a Electromagnetic station, setup to investigate the unusual electromagnetics of that part of the island, meaning the island could be acting as a minor earth-magnetic pole, hence attracting or giving reason for polar bears to propagate there (this is an obvious long shot though).

3) The polar bears are there as an experiment by 'the others' whom as said in the Orientation film are/were doing studies into zoology, and 2 polar bears can be seen in that film...

And about the show, I have seen one episode at my friends house, they like it alot, but never seen it other than that, looks good.

People will stupidly put porn anywhere. Watch the show, hire out the first series and prepare to be wonderfully confused.

I found (as many have) the interactive LOST computer, where the numbers must be entered every 108 mins. If you type in things such as MUSIC and GAME you will be presented with them, type the numbers in when the timer reaches 4 mins to reset the computer.

Type in Hello to get a response, you will be asked questions like 'Who are you' 'Why are you typing at this computer' etc.
I replied 'I am a crash survivor' and it said 'Your a crash Survivor? Yeah right, whatever'. I asked 'What is the purpose of this Island' and it replied 'Are you even taking your injections?'

I asked 'What are the Injections for?' and it came up with an animation with the text "Nearly 2 months we survived here, 2 months before..." and just sat there idle. You can ask several questions such as 'What is Dharma' etc. There are tonnes of clues just waiting to be found, can anyone else find any? Its obvious how prepared this site is but its fascinating...

I tend to agree. Not because they're doing stuff wrong, its just awfully predictable. It's the "tried and tested" formula for building up tension.

I wouldnt call it predictable, what tries and tested elements are you talking about, the plot is quite original.

It's not the plot, its just the general devices they use to build up tension (i.e. putting flashbacks right at moments of tension, setting up the breaks in tension to coincide with commercial breaks [which is a purposeful thing], the camera angles and cuts, the music...)

Same as any other film/tv show really, you cant expect much more

The survivors should be dead, its supposed to be odd that way. One of the characters himself said that they shouldnt of survived with the minimal injuries they had. Its a supernatural mystery among many other things (dont say boring!).

I've been away for a few days so I couldn't post here any sooner.

I torrent all the new episodes so forgive me if I speak of something which you have not heard/seen of yet.

I reckon the island is some kind of experiment. I've seen enough interviews with the producers to realise that they don't like unrealistic stories and therefore wouldn't use "magic" etc as an excuse for these happening. The Americans among you or other torrenters might ask, "what explains the strange black cloud?".

In that area I don't know, my guess is it might be an illusion but I definitely don't think it's real.

Yes the show is completely odd, unlikely and impossible, thats what i love about it, escape from reality. You all know there is a deeper meaning to the show/ the island. There are many Religious/spritual sides to it, ideas about life and lifes meaning.
