This is a game I made a couple years ago. I decided sense I posted this on the snarkpit, I might as well share it with you guys as well, eh?

It uses the JiggleScript engine, which was coded by a friend of mine. Hope you enjoy it.

Odd... I think I have it fixed now, sorry about that :)

EDIT: New host: http://www.dvstudio-production.com/kilauea/www/rolling_marble.zip

I'd advise you to stop using websamba if you are, It's not longer reliable...
For some reason, It only uploaded 1/5 of the file and then said it was done.

Heh, nice one. Reminds me of the classic Sky Roads. :)

But there's some stuff to tweak:
1. The arrow buttons were overreactive in the menu.
2. The point of view in-game is very low, there's little overview of what's to come.
3. There's only two sides. I could stay just in the middle and always be safe just as long as one side was wood. I only had to jump over total gaps.

My suggestions:
1. Allow more tiles next to each other (this probably means, make the tiles smaller so more fit in).
2. Put in some additional tile types, like booster, glue, jump-pads that allow you to jump higher, some height difference perhaps. Whatever you can think of.
3. Put in an 'avatar'. A spaceship or frog if you like :P.
4. Some powerups or items could result in some interesting gameplay changes. Coins to add to the score, an activate-at-will speed modifier, a hover-powerup (temporary immunity to gaps), a score modifier... perhaps reward higher score for higher speed?

All in all, nice little game. Perhaps if you pick it up again you can make something real fun of this. :)

Perhapes.

I'm thinking of creating a Rolling Marble 2, with the irrlicht engine. Might as well expand my experience with coding :)

^_^!

That's really fun :)

its very buggy, though.
For example, when i got the blue diamond (made me jump miiiiiles) i would sometimes just fall right through the wood when i landed

Really buggy, it also lagged in my computer.

Basicly this is just a skyroads version. I prefer the original ones:
  • It's not buggy and laggy
  • You can see your ship, and I like that cute little ship.
  • More cool stuff like gravity
  • Special kinds of floors like explosive, slippry, sticky...ect
  • Better gameplay.
  • More kinds of floors and walls like raised floor and tubes. In the first sky roads you couldn't jump on the higer floors, it's fine both ways.
  • Fuel and oxegen.(There wasn't oxegen in the first one)
Edit:

For those who are wondering which three versions I meen:

I never liked the way Skyroads handled the fuel and oxigen. I always felt I died for no reason at all.
To make floors recharge fuel or oxigen just didn't feel right. If you were to make items for that and spread them deliberately rather than giving only one or two changes at restoring these, I think that would work much better than the way Skyroads did it.
I hated the explosive floors as well. Just don't put a floor there then, but don't confuse me by giving it a slightly different color than other types! Arr...

Indeed, I have skyroads on my computer and have played it. Explosive tiles always pissed me off :)

And thanks for the comments, I know the blue diamond (superjump) power-up is buggy. The fix however problably would require a complete recoding of the gravity and jump stuff, and I just don't feel like it :) I had it "fixed" once, but the new code broke the jumping so you could only jump at the holes. I decided to revert back to increase difficulity.

Your free to mod or edit it as much as you want to, just give me credit. I've however given up on it, and have moved on.
