I am a genuin movie freak, but im running out of movies to watch.

So i want some backup from TWHL, give me some tips on good movies, or movies that are so bad that they are fun to watch.

And i just love "monster" movies, like vampires, zombies and that kind of stuff.

thanks, Tosse

The Usual Suspects
Woot.

If you like vampires, watch Night Watch. That has vampires in. First part of a trilogy.

Watch some movies with class, none of this bad horror shite everyone's suggesting!
Avoid: Doom, Resident Evil, House of Wax (remake), 28 Days Later etc.

I agree on the Tarantino Movies and Sin City, also see Batman Begins, War of The Worlds, The Omen Trilogy (the originals, good horror movies), Enemy at the gates/Saving Private Ryan (all the good war films) and Snatch.

Ive got a recommendation, dont watch Primer, its even harder to understand than Donnie Darko.
Posted 18 years ago2006-03-24 06:57:43 UTC Post #170638
28 Days Later I thought was a pretty good film Strider.

I also thought Donnie Darko was easy to understand if you payed attention, and a very good movie. ;D
Posted 18 years ago2006-03-24 07:07:15 UTC Post #170642
yeah, Donnie Darko was easy to understand... It was about waffles, right?

But even if you dont understand it, its worth watching just for the 'Smurf Philophosy' scene
RONALD
Smurfette doesn't fuck.
SEAN
Bullshit. Smurfette fucks all the
other smurfs. That's why Papa Smurf
made her, 'cause the other smurfs
were getting too horny.
RONALD
Not Vanity. He's a homo.
SEAN
Then she fucks 'em all while Vanity
watches. And Papa Smurf films it.
DONNIE
First of all... Papa Smurf didn't
create Smurfette. Gargamel did. She
was sent in as Gargemel's evil spy,
with the intention of destroying the
smurf village. But the overwhelming
Goodness of the Smurf Way of Life
transformed her into the Smurfette
we all know and love. And as for the
whole gang-bang scenario... it just
couldn't happen. Smurfs are asexual.
They probably don't even have
reproductive organs down there under
those little white pants. The only
reason they exist is because of magic
spells and witchcraft... which is
all a bunch of bullshit if you ask
me.
     (beat)
That's what's so illogical about the
smurfs... what's the point of living
if you don't have a dick?
RONALD
Dammit, Donnie! Why do you always
gotta get all smart on us!
I am yet to find ONE enjoyable zombie flick, that's just me.
If it's horror you want, as i said you cant go past the original Omen Trilogy, this years remake probably wont be up to scratch.

House Of Wax
DUDE! Paris Hilton! What the fuck is wrong with you?
Posted 18 years ago2006-03-24 10:54:53 UTC Post #170670
Are you for or against Paris Hilton? I think she is a ditsy twit, she actually compared her acting skills to Charlise Theron, and thinks she won... she's a rich, snobby twat. She buys her own books, and has her name printed on half her property for fuck sake... :tired:

Tosse:

"Swindle" is a decent film, about a bank robbery and an undercover cop who gets in on it.

"Bad Santa" is an absolutly awesome film, all about a drunk lockpicker and a midget that rob large shopping complexs. Very good film, lots of swearing in it though.

"Shogun Assassin" is a brilliant film. Its old and was originally made in japan but its fantastic, all about the Shogun's Personal Exacutioner who disobeys him one day and is then hunted by droves of assassins, while he is trying to protect his baby son in this KICK ASS pram that has swords and shit built into it.

In my opinion, Stanley Kubrik's best...

Mostly because i still dont understand wtf 2001: A space odysee is about, and Clockwork Orange, I have only seen once, years ago.

Kubrik movies are good movies, rule.

Seriously, i could watch movies all day long, my girlfriends father is downloading movies all the time, he's got like 400 dvd's and somewhere between 400 - 600 avi movie's. He gave me 25 (avi)movies, and then 14 dvd's. I watched them, many times over. and when im at there place, i watch movies when ever i get the chance (when my girlfriends is sleeping or just tired)

"Basket Case 1 and 2"..meant to be a horror...so bad its more like a comedy, I laughed more than I was scared :

Still worth watching for the movie buff ;)

You all should watch "house of the dead" so bad you can't stop laughing!

i still dont understand wtf 2001: A space odysee is about
It's about a series of loosely connected events that are supposed to trigger a series of questions on the viewer. It triggered many questions for me, but none had to do with the plot. Rather with the lack of plot.
Technically, the film is an achievement, but I'd much rather watch "Planet of the Apes", a more interesting film made in the same year.

As for other films, I tought Saw and Saw2 were interesting, but you have probably seen them already.

I've seen that Tosse. Hilarious movie :) .
Alicia: Guys, check out this book. Looks pretty old, maybe it'll help us!
It's a serious movie, made by all of ours favorite Uwe Boll.
