Fuk off I need to know if there exists a kind of program to compile created map to a bsp one. When we do it from hammer with the run map it's freaking long, I don,t want to cut another map because of that hell it would make 5 maps I need to cut off becoz of that shit., I heard there exists program to compile to bsp faster, is it true? If so can you give me somewhere where I could download that? :furious:

Batch compilers. They are the same as Hammer. A compile time shouldnt take more than an hour if properly optimized. I suggest you optimize your map, or learn how. There are many techniques.

And starting a thread saying 'Fuk off' wouldn't help either.
Agreeing with Xyos212 here, your map probably needs far more optimisation if it's taking too long, otherwise your probably very impatient and just need to wait it out. Batch compilers aren't a necessary step, the Hammer 4 compilers should do the job just fine.

Ok nevermind about the "fuck off" I'm freaking angry so long it disturbs me that thing, but how I do optimizing?

Ok ok I understand. I thought it was something really special like a prgoram or something else, for optimizing I've got a site. But I just wanted to know if there no other thing thenrunning in hammer.

The only convenience of batch compiling is that you get extra memory from Hammer being closed (preferably.)

Optimization isn't a seperate program. Your maps probably take a long time because they're poorly optimized. Learn about areaportals, hint brushes, func_details, and such. Have a look at this: http://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/Optimization

Additionally, just be patient. Maps can sometimes be long on the compile process by nature. I've had maps that have run compiles for multiple days and still weren't finished. I went back and optimized and they can now compile in a day or so.

I know I'm patient but I have 2 brothers and they won't wait for it. One of my bro will maybe in not so long get off he has no schoole and so I can't compile my map a whole day so I need to do it night to the next morning. I have a delay

Well, besides the need for optimization (hey, perhaps you can upload your current .rmf to the problems vault so some of us can take a look and give you some specific tips for that) you could also use the Cordon tool to compile only a part of the map - handy when you just want to check a small part you just modified.

Now I have heard stories about people losing the rest of their map after cordon compiling (as far as I know the cordon tool determines what Hammer writes to the .map file). Personally I have never had trouble with this, but it's one of the reasons to backup your map now and then. I usually save my map after every major change, resulting in a long row of maps as 'mapname_01' up to 'mapname_32' and the like - usefull in case something goes wrong but also when you want to look back at your progress and such purposes.

Can area_portals help speed up the compile process? I thought they only optimized in-game rendering.

I don't know how to
First- Take an image from my comp I know how in CSS but when your in your program it doesn't work.
Second- I don't now how to show images in the website

Didn't you tell me a website about this captain? If it's that you mean.. You showed me the website of zombie http://www.student.kun.nl/rvanhoorn/Optimization.htm

Now I have no more trouble I did some cleaning in my map, but I don't know about area_portals, don,t try to always talk to me about this! : :zonked:

Uploading your .rmf is simple - zip it in and if it's under 2 MB, you can upload it to this site directly in the map vault.

The reason I think that would be a good move is that you're still having very long compile times and optimization guides, while usefull, may not directly provide the insight gathered by years of experience.

I don't mean my rmf, whatever I dont really know what that thing does, but I want to put my map in a zip file then put it in map vault, its that i dont understand and for my map I told i had problem i corected it using the web page of zombie ( optimization )
( Hint to get good grade, dont never use babelfish... :zonked: )

.rmf is the format Hammer uses, it stores other information like the camera's and visibility groups you're using in Hammer. Sending the .map file is good, if not better - it's smaller to start with. ;)

so .rmf is the file u use on hammer? seriously i know only bsp and .rmf at begining i thought it was the current ifle of ur map to use on hammer and it was erally that. :
