The show that every nerd has seen "Star Trek". It had many series over time. Some good, some bad. Post your favorite series and characters here:

Star Trek TNG: Data, Captain Picard, Jordi, Riker, Worf, Q

Star Trek Original: Captain Kirk, Spock, Bones

DS9 and voyager were horrible!

Next Generation - Lol pwn

Deep-Space 9 - God-awful

Voyager - The best.. actually has a decent story..

Enterprise - Pfft. Enough, already.

Data will always be my favourite character. Like him, I sometimes find it difficult to understand some parts of human behaviour.
The Enterprise-E (from the movies) is the best ship.
The original series had good moments, but the sets and effects are quite old & bad if you compare it with the rest.
Deep Space Nine was strange. It was more like Babylon 5 than Star Trek.
Voyager had an interesting plot but I think it didnt have any memorable or charismatic characters.
I haven't seen a full episode of Enterprise yet...

Star Trek - not a big fan, movies are the best though.
TNG the best, good casting and some decent plotlines.
DS9, as soon as the jemhadar/alpha quadrant 'saga' kicked in it was watchable and actually did some brilliant eps (has my all-time favourite 'The Visitor' in season 4)
Voyager, bleh, getting a bit long in the tooth now with the same rehashed plotlines. The borg bits were ok, but Ive watched TNG in its entirely 3 times and DS9 twice and had no problems, I only barely get through voyager the second time, being bored out my mind.
Enterprise - I watched the first season, I gave up after that.

i think 'The Doctor' in Voyager is one of the best characters. A Hologram designed for emergency work only finds himself forced to treat for the whole crew, and how staying online 24/7 lets him learn...

I have never in my entire life actually watched an entire episode...or even half an episode for that matter of any kind of Star Trek.

I like Data and Spock, they don't argue with my Logic.

I only have seen one episode of DS9. I saw the transporter chief from TNG, and Ferengi everywhere and was like: What the hell happened? Is DS9 worth watching? Does it have the same related stories as TNG? Also, does data make an apperance in DS9? Then I would watch it. Data is such a good character.

TNG is made of Picard and win.

TWHL is a holodeck simulation gone horribly wrong.

Ever get curious one day and say out loud: Computer, end program! Just to see if you were in the Holodeck?

I think TNG and Voyager were the best.

As as for Kas' comment about no memorbale chars in Voyager...take a long, hard look at Seven's outfits/chest and get back to us.

DS9 was cool. The originals were funny. I used to be a big fan, but I lost interest, healthily ;).

The Doctor and Neelix are maybe the only characters for which you can feel sympathy in Voyager. 7 of 9 inspires different things.

Best Series: TNG. The first few seasons were bad, but after that it pwned all.

Fav TNG episode: Too many good ones to choose...

Fav Character: Data

Best Alien Race: The Borg.

Never really watched the other series, but Sisko seemed like a good captain character from the episodes I did see, and DS9 had some hot female characters like Dax and the Bajoran chick :)

Shatner was always a charismatic actor, but I feel he did his best work in the moveis.

Fav Star Trek Movie: Star Trek II: The Wrath Of Khan

Fav Ship: I'm still partial to the older generation ships like the refitted Enterprise from movies I, II, and III. The USS Reliant was cool too, and who can forget the original Klingon Bird Of Prey :P

Galaxy Quest was a great movie based upon the original cast.

LOL.

Voyage home pwned too :)

Almost forgot the USS Defiant. I don't know why, but I love that ship

it 'defies' all laws of realistic engineering by being both small, invincible, armed to the teeth and faster than every other ship

saying that it also can travel faster than the speed of light, go invisible and is regularly featured in a paralell universe, so im probably being fickle

LOL!1

It's a submarine/destroyer of sorts, in todays terms.

Since Wind Resistance/drag doesn't exist in a vacuum, it makes sense not that a smaller ship would go faster, but I'm sure Michael Okuda/Rick Sternbach have some techno-babble, realistic-sounding explanation for it :)

ya'll never beat me -

I have all DS9, Star Trek: Next Generation, Star Trek: Voyager, Star Trek: The Original Series, and Babylon 5 seasons    :cyclops: :cyclops: :cyclops:

We need to realign the warp coils and overload the stress outputs to convert the anti-matter to non-coehesieve matter in order to reduce the total strain on the core!

Like putting too much air in a ballon!

You know Ive never seen any Star Trek movies yet. I plan to watch them all in one day after schools out.

Don't bother with the movies. They all suck.
Posted 18 years ago2006-04-25 02:40:57 UTC Post #176594
fundamentally though you cant design something that does everything better than everything else, it would just take too long and be too costly
Posted 18 years ago2006-04-25 04:33:41 UTC Post #176608
TNG, TOS ftw.
Voyager, Enterprise fts.
DS9 is ok, but I don't watch it much.
m0p m0pIllogical.

All of Star trek's series suck. My brother saw it once and I saw it with him. It was mostly from the next generation serie. It was more like a drama movie with a few lazer shots in the middle.

Bahh... who am I to judge such movies. I don't like the whole kind of those since fiction movies. That includes star wars that I loath.
Posted 18 years ago2006-04-25 05:31:04 UTC Post #176614
Mostly TNG.. I'm guessing you saw the Generations film? Generations is pretty crappy. All of the TNG films are crappy, actually. The TOS films own :)

P.S: It's spelt "science"
m0p m0pIllogical.

What are you on about? First Contact and Nemesis were excellent imo. Actually some of my favorite movies...(sad I know)
Posted 18 years ago2006-04-25 07:34:03 UTC Post #176623
I liked Nemesis the first time I saw it. After that, it just feels like a long TNG episode in which the Enterprise (how original) is badly damaged.
First Contact is great (2 of my maps are inspired by the film). I specially like the fact that it goes against standard sci-fi rules. The big space battle happens at the beginning and the rest takes place in the Enterprise, showing us it takes more than quantum torpedoes to beat the Borg.
Jerry Goldsmith's music is perfect as always, and the whole idea of the flight of the Phoenix is key to the whole ST universe.
Posted 18 years ago2006-04-25 08:16:52 UTC Post #176626
Generations bored me to death, Insurrection sucks, Nemesis is average. First Contact was actually ok though.
