ive tried and tried all the forums all the tutorials and nothing works. im so bummed.

if someone can give me a step by step on how to input custom sounds into a map using hammer 3.4(expert_fgd) im trying to get a rain.wav loop to play in my map. it is about a month now ive been looking and still no luck i did get the sound to play once but it did not loop by default it played and stopped.

ive tried using ambien_generic and trigger_auto,multiple,ext...
ive checked the format of sound its good but why in the world wont it loop by default.

ive made over a thousand maps without sound and im sick of it maybe i need a new fgd or something im losing my mind.

is there a way i can MAKE IT WORK NO MATTER WHAT!?!?!?!?!?!
this is for condition zero btw

Where do you place the sounds? Place them in <modfolder>/sounds.
The directory in the ambient generic's '.wav name' value shouldn't be the full one- "C:.....<modfolder>/sounds/<wavname>.wav"- it should be only "sounds/<wavname>.wav".
That will only work if you'll place them in the right directory.

i use sound/rain.wav in there but still to no worky it will play once and stop

is there something to do with the wav itself that im not doing
this is the reason i ask for the step by step it must be one little thing im missing.

Don't check the 'is not toggled' flag. Is not toggled=Is not looped

i know im wondering if it may be my parameters or something

but yes i made sure i only clik small radius

do i have to put the trigger in the spawn point or something i need to know placement to something is a miss ive been trying for a manth now and still cant get the dam sound to play and if i do it plays once and stops

There is a flag called 'start silent'. If you don't tick it the sound will start from the begining of the level, no need to trigger it, infact don't give the entity a name.

ok i did that now the sound plays but it only plays for the first three seconds of the round then the clock up to resets to round time and the sound stops the length of the loop is about 3 seconds i cant even pick a team before it stops. even tho i need to figure out why its not looping by default all i have ticked it the play everywhere flag

have you created proper cue points? that is the most likely reason for a sound not looping.

Frosticles: Cue points and the whole process are covered in the sound tutorial here, and have been covered in the forums many times.

Next time, maybe look a little harder ;)

its was not the cue points i figured it out it was actually rendered wrong at 22/khz instead of 11025/khz my version wont compile 22khz sound for some reason even tho it uses them in cz
