The painkiller could easily be in that top 10. As a matter of fact, the freeze shotgun and stakegun from the same game are also quite fun.

after telling me that the doom chainsaw was only acquired late in the game I nearly switched off, its on the second level!

I didn't like the Redeemer too much. It was just Point. Fire. +15 Frags.

AvP Grenade Launcher should be there.

The weapons in Halo 1 are mod'able... For anyone who has the PC version, you can download what they call the Halo Mod Kit. One of them is a Map tool that you can pretty much alter everything about the weapons outside of it's appearance.
I once modded a Banshee turret to basically SPRAY your enemy... death within microseconds
I sure wish you could do that in Half-Life - would be kinda fun to get back at those "I'm a Half-Life God and I PWN your ass!" wannabe's LOL

I would've placed the Laptop gun higher up in the list. And red koopa shells? GHEY. The green ones are much more satisfying (when you actually hit someone other than yourself with them) to use.

I forgot about the Serious Sam cannon. Now THAT was a serious weapon.
I also remember the taser in Syphon filter. Once the metal pins were in your enemy's body, you had to quickly tap a button to electrocute him. If you did so quickly enough, he would start burning

Yea, they shouldn't do these.... I mean, all of those guns are good in there own way. They should have countdowns in specific catagories, like best shotgun, assult rifle, etc... Cause if you put the weapons against each other, the grav gun would be the last weapon I would want. That one gun from Turok should have been on there, I forget what it was called, but it was this very stick like gun, was blue, and when you fired it, it made a nuke, rather take that then the grav gun.
And no, I would have killed somebody if the crowbar would have been on there, it is a melee weapon, PC's have to learn, don't make a separate melee weapon, it is pointless, you can still punch if you have a gun.

The grav gun isnt all bad. Once i completed half-life 2 i went over all the chapters you have the grav gun and started messing about. And mods like garry's mod just makes it even better. As my friend once said 'Its a gun that requires a little imagination'

But in Half-Life you get the crowbar before any other weapon. That's how it is in most games, hence the melee slot.

You can't have a top 10 best video game weapons. There's just too many. You need a top 10 most influential video game weapons. Then the top would be shotgun from doom, crowbar from hl, awp from cs, lightsaber from any jedi game...that's all I can think of.
