Theres no custom content in it.

I tried to submit just the link to the map in the submission section for the contest, but it wouldn't accept without a file. I will submit a link to the map here, if it's ok. I'll wait for your answer.

standard competition rules -

If the map is bigger than the max upload - host it elsewhere and place the link in a .txt file, which you then place in a .zip and submit

I've been playin' w/ the idea of enterin' this compo, but I'd like to have a better look at the map the pic is from first. I tried using Nem's Crafty Object Viewer, but I've been unable to get a textured view. Any suggestions?

Oh, and does a custom train made from brushes only (no modeling) count a custom?

i mean didn't he use a prog to display the old map in 3d, like a bsp viewer.
i got this one fro Nem's site, but I can't get it to display that map textured.

You need to assign the wad probably...Erm but why not just play the map like I did and take loads of pics...

He didn't decompile it if that's what you're thinking cause you can't take any of it...Causes too many errors.

Trapt's tunnel leads to nowhere, he is simply recreating the area (and just making up the stuff that's not in the original screenshot cos he can't remember the original map and can't be bothered opening up Blue Shift).

Work has stopped for the past few days, I've had to focus on my more important Dystopia stuff.

I won't start working on the skybox until the rest is finished.

In a competition where no custom content is allowed, standard content can be used differently.
For example. A Combine wall turns effectively into a Combine ceiling:

That leaves room for 3rd place so either Madcow, Pepper etc could bag it.

If I don't find any solution I'll have to shield of half of the map using player clip, and that wouldn't be very funny for the player.

I'm reaching a point where performance is similar to "Kaufmann House".
The map might get a bit laggy in old computers.

By the way, I'm taking the following paragraph as my guideline:
You will be judged on how well you not only establish the theme of the screenshot, but also how well you establish its own unique theme. Creativity and imagination will also be a deciding factor.
My map won't be accurate like the datacore>>dm_steamlab conversion. I'm making lots of changes and going for a more urban setting.
Will that be a problem?

That part caught my eye...I wreckon a nice different theme will win the battle. So far we have an island type map, we used to have an abandoned city type map, we have your grimey urban map, we have a sort of desert map and we have a night theme map.

So yeah I assume so.

Yeh, a different theme will be an advantage, not a disadvantage...
The idea was to see what we could do with the original textures but also make it creative..
I'm not giving anything away on mine... though most people on IRC have seen the shots :P
