This is probably a stupid question, and possibly one that has all ready been asked before but where is the Model Browser. I can't find, I have tried countless of times to search for it but now it is irritating me. Please can you tell me where it is?

Which one? The Half-Life Model Viewer or the in-Hammer one? If you want the HLMV, just load the SDK and double click "Model Viewer".

You make a prop_physic or prop_static and go to properties and select a model:
