In the level I'm makeing currently, i'd like medkits and batteries to spawn on demand, via a button next to its spawn point. The problem is that when setting the button's output, i can't find anything like "spawn" or "toggle" or "create"... and regardless of what i set the button to, the objects spawn at the start of the level anyway. First off, is this possible, and 2nd off, how would i do this?

First, create a button (brush), tie to an entity (Ctrl T), and select "func_button". Fill in everything with whatever you want. For "target", choose something simple with no caps, like "spawn1". Next, place 2 "amoury_entity", select whatever you want and name them both "spawn1". Now, the button should work. However, if you are mapping for Source, I don't think you can put medkits or batteries as an item on the floor... If it's for hl2, then it should be there.

there are no "armoury_entities" in the entities list... i dont understand what you mean.

There is no amoury_entity for HL2. There might be one for CS:S

Oh, then I really have no idea cos I don't really play half-life dm, so i don't make dm maps. Anyway, this is the Source mapping forum right? Shouldn't you ask in the half-life forum? :

Oh, ok, always thought hl2 and source were completely different. Haha, sorry, my mistake. Then in that case, I can't really help you... sorry!

There's an entity maker entity - I'd set the battery as the template then have it make batteries through the entity maker. I'm not sure if this is soley for NPCs or works for other entities as well though.

Ok, I figured I'd revive this thread to use, rather than using up an other SLQ entry; I guess I lost interest in doing this untill now.

Now that I know more about entities n such, I understand more of what I read in this thread. SO....what's this 'entity maker entity' called in the editor?

Ahhh, yes, it works now. I'm using it so spawn explosive barrels :P
