it is a nice faceposing job, like rim said

15th was pretty good.
Although the van in the frame, just before the crash was a bit too high off the ground, imo.
And the crash frame wasn't convincing enough. I mean.. A van falling off a cliff should make a pretty big boom with gibs n' blood everywhere, not just smoke. You could add some flying auto parts and make the guy have some blood on his shirt for some extra realism.

16th had pretty good posing and I really liked the idea. :D

I was actually thinking, after reading issue 15, "wouldnt it be awesome if GMan saved the day?" It's like you've got ESP

notes:
I know de_port isn't technically a rebel base, but i couldnt be bothered going through all the coast maps to find the one with Odessa, simply for the stairs gag.
It's not a particularly big issue, but i felt that continuing the story in the same issue would cheapen the already terrible stair gag.

possing in panel 3 looks wierd. and you could have pulled off the gag a bit better.

You want me to comment. K.

I don't get it.

Brittish humor and HL2 comics are definitely not my thing. ;)

I really think i used too much JPEG compression here, but the image size was dangerously large at 90% quality, so i took it down to 70%.
Next time i think i'll sacrifice file size for image quality

Oh, and i figured the stair gag was just so goood that it had to make a re-appearance ;)

The image quality is really way too paint-ish.
You can't help it, if the comic has more frames, than usual. It's no big deal, if the filesize goes over 500 kb..

I'd suggest merging 17 and 18, since 17 is pretty short and the joke is repeated.

To be honest, the last 2 comics have just been continuing the story.. It's surprisingly difficult to put something funny in-between a reasonably serious plot.. for me anyway

You should make "stair falling" his "thing". But make sure it feels fresh each time. :)

Notes:
Yes, two frames in this comic are identical. Why? I deleted a bad frame and had an odd number of them.
Yes i should stick to a set number of frames, but hey, what's a bit of excitement?
Also, i just noticed that Frohman abused Norman in this comic.

Some of the posing could be improved.

Other then that good job.

Why are some of the speech bubbles coloured red, blue and yellow in the beginning?

Content is good as always though!

unforseen_consequences.bsp includes Rosa's bar, the oil-rigged version, the prison and several other locations that have been used in the past, or will be used in the future. I got sick of constantly changing between maps. Oh, and yes, i know that there is waaaaay too much JPG compression. My bad.

Yes I laughed at this one, Posing was good apart from a few little things. And it seems a lot cleaner now.
Posted 17 years ago2006-10-04 22:20:07 UTC Post #198563
This one was long, but the length is made up for by good comics. I lol'd several times.

Posing on the last 2 frames is pretty good  . In the 11th frame though, when he's about to sit... It didn't really look like he was preparing to lay down, rather he was just squatting to take a dump or somthing. Still though, overal, the posing is nice :) .

I suppose my only other critique would be a few more camera angles.. unless a single camera angle was what you were aiming for to mimic the single PoV that a security camera would have or somthing. :)
Posted 17 years ago2006-10-06 05:45:20 UTC Post #198688
yea, I laughed a bit too. That 2 guards converstation is great.Good job, Hunter
Posted 17 years ago2006-10-06 13:36:26 UTC Post #198719
Hahahah!
The whole joke was great, although the posing needed more work in some frames. While the conversation was quite well-made - I really didn't like the posing in the frames, where the guards were looking at the ceiling. The poses, while laying down really didn't look natural.
And as Rotator said, a few more cam angles/close-ups could've been nice.

Anyways - good job. :D

From my first thought of this issue, i had only planned for one camera angle. I simply thought it was the best way to convey the conversation, with Norman walking by in the background... I suppose there was a twinge of inspiration from a security camera, but mostly i just thought it was the best plan.

I'm really glad you all liked it ^_^
