To be honest, no...I never want it to be like pok646 but the place you see in that screenshot is not a subway..Just a some sort of underground tunnel.But since I've got poke646 textures , I used them.Gameplay will mostly be different from poke646 but other than that its just a city.Poke646 and other mods got cities as well.What made you think that its like poke646 is probably the textures.Is that the only comment you can think of?
edit:Did you mean like as good as poke646?I may got you wrong.

hey perhaps try using hl2 textures like moi. lol..
right now I'm going through all the transparent decals, and editing all my textures, making alot of duplicate textures.. lol :

But hey, screenies look good.

Poke 646 is good, but you don't want your mod to be shadowed by it or thought of as a 'Poke 646 clone'. If your gameplay and locales are generally different to Poke 646 then it should be fine. Aslong as you're not trying to make it mimic Poke 646. This shouldn't matter anyway seeing as you'll have a different weapon set and some different enemies to it.

It's looking a little blocky right now, but the lighting is nice. If you refined some of the mapping by using some more curved surfaces and less thick trims, it'd look more appealing.

Yea Muzz, that building near the Xen tree looks a bit undetailed..Working mostly on the xen tree and the effects..I though player wouldnt notice.But hey, I'll add those support stuts when I have the time.

Strider:I dont think it can get shadowed by poke646 since Xen Assault has Squad type of gameplay(thanks to op4.dll).People who like that type of games probably like the mod.I did everything to make the (artificial intelligence) A.I to look realistic and satisfying.(note:I placed info_nodes in every corner but still npc s get stuck or lost while following you in hl1, really annoying..)

yes, I asked before I started the mod.
Also he said that I didnt need to ask him since.He already wrote
You can however use the Poke646 artwork for any uncommercial project, regardless for which mod it is. But even in this case, please credit me in the readme file with a link to this site.
Important:I said that there was a possiblity of Xen Assault being released in 2007 but I think I'm going on the tracks with haste.
So expect it to be released in 3-2 months.
Note:Instead of 10 chapters and 5 maps for all chapters.
I reduced the map and chapter number to something like 4-3.I still didnt really decide yet but because of real life stuff.I will have to. :)

lighting needs more contrast. very bright areas next to very dark areas are alot more creepy and fun then flatter lighting.

but im not saying the lighting is bad in it, just that its kinda just a dark area right now, without anything really interesting

If its the lighting...well, I dont think that it does seem uninteresting.

The grag ment that although he thinks that the lighting is cool(or something like that) you need to add contrast to it. Add a few light sources that will emmit a dim white/yellowish light, this way it'll look more intresting. Don't make them to strong or else they will destroy the whole mood.

Ok, that looks nice but I'm not using any HD garg but it doesnt look like the way I want anyway.It has to look like... it came from hell.You can use it as a replacement after I release the mod.

Loez, actually I wanted to release a big media update. But I got bored of waiting for it (yea..even myself) Anyway here is the small media.
Any suggestions or comments would be helpfull.

About the first re-skin screenshot, I changed most of the skins again.. Because I didnt like them myself. Now they became more unique (I think). Also I fixed the pants of the citizen model(lol).

Weapon models/skin by Rimrook..(thx Rimrook) You'll be seeing detailed credits in the mod .

The solider's skin looks way too blurred apart from the gasmask.
Add more detail & blood to the chest/legs area.
The level is looking pretty good.

Indeed, I agree with that...but was too lazy to change it again
But its a little bit of the low-def model's fault :P
I can add more blood, its easy :)

thx, I finished 21 maps so far and 6 maps left. After that.. testing and teh release! My goal was 50 maps but woa, what was I thinking ..it would been a suicide. I hope everyone will enjoy it. :)

That mapping looks great! reminds me of the end of HL2 and thats a good thing. Keep up the great work, i'll be around so if you need anything, i'll do what i can.

If you are asking about mapping, yes I am. Also the sound effects and some textures (xenassault.wad), sometimes poor sketchs for weapons (lol). One person is voice acting and Rimrook is modelling/skinning and also animating the weapons. Thats the team, I think :P

Hmmm... Mapping is looking fairly decent, but I'm not seeing too much detail there (except for the railing, which I can see needs to be func_walled). The texturing is a little weak, too.

It's actually looking much better with the athmosphere. Little Robot things floating, a hammer at the back making little earthquakes. There is actually more cool stuff like sexy vent with shade-light effect :P and some decent computer stuff but I couldnt get them all in a screenshot. I dont like taking many screenshots eiher cause I want to save some for the release..... I should have taken a better screenshot.

Good idea, not taking too many screens. A lot of mods mess up at that, and release screens of every little area, completely spoiling the mod.

Yea some of them post screenshots of every part of a map and it ruins it (imo).

The face is really great, but everything else is pretty blurry... That's just what you get for using the low def models. I'd say you should make the blood on his shirt more opaque, and darken his hands until they're the color of his face.

Agreed with srry.
The colour of his pants looks weird too. Change it to something more military green-ish to fit with the shirt.

And the gun is awesome, although it looks a bit weird in the hands of a blurry low-def guard.

Well the old pic is gone so I can't compare but it looks better from my memory. They would be rather spooky if you used scary sounds as their voices.

Foulsin Assassin

Top Specialist in the military forces of Xentopia. Since Gordon is a tough bait. Foulsin Assassin has been sent to match Gordon's combat skills. He follows Gordon everywhere and wait for the right chance.

Abilities:
Can use various weapons (kais rifle, electrobolt smg) [you usually die with one shot]
Also has high melee combat skills.
Can use his xz21 suit to become invisible or activate his forcefield.

note: I'm still not sure about the name though..

Yes, although you do have the option of changing the background color in HLMV, which would make it far easier to distinguish the the black in the model from the background.

And, you know, nothing is better than seeing it in a map.
