I have created my map. and i want to test it. so i go ingame and press Play on LAn. then i look in the maplist. But my map isnt there. and i know its compiled right,

How to start my map in single player?

First, make sure the map is in your maps directory (like C:/Sierra/Half-Life/valve/maps, or whatever you use). If you want to start a single player game, you have to launch the map manually by going into the console and typing "map mapname", without the quotes, and mapname being the name of your BSP.

you need to enable the console for that method by either enableing console under advanced keyboard options for Steam Half-life or first creating a shortcut to the HL launcher, and adding -console in the path in its properties

Okay. thanks for the help. by the way im using non steam orginal Half life for testing my maps. I will try this out

If its a deathmatch map, it wont show in the list unless it has been compiled with at least 1 info_player_deathmatch

If you want your map to show up in the multiplayer map list, you need to have at least one info_player_deathmatch
