um.. have you been using prefabs?

Or have you stretched multiple brushes of different size/shape at the same time?

Looking at the bottom right panel, you've carved a complex shape into another shape, which results in terrible fracturing.

Read our tutorials on Vertex Manipulation for a better way to do it.

no this is just a piece of brush thats a simple square and i thought it was aligned but after zooming in i find its not, is it because sometimes i copy brush instead of using the brush tool?

no no prefabs

Keep in mind that you can shrink the grid size using the [ and ] keys.

Even though what I posted before wasn't quite related, I'd still change it.

The weird thing with Hammer 4.x is that it made some adjustments to the way entinties and solids are created. If you placed a brush at a point (x,y,z) of the map, then Hammer will most likely try to mimic the SIZE and POSITION of the next brush as exactly as possible. So let's say you created a prop_phys with a model of a wooden crate (40.3u x 40.2u). Then the next time you create a brush, let's say in top-view (x and y), Hammer will try to:

a. Align the new brush in z-dimension to the same heigh as the crate you just created-

b. Make the brush 40.3 units HIGH.

That's just like it. Create a few brushes with sides divisible with 64, and you're fine, as Hammer will buffer those new dimensions instead of the odd ones you currently have.

so your saying i have to make all my blocks in one window?

No, he's saying that after having an entity selected, it will attempt to mimic its demensions in the axis not visible in the window you're creating the brush in. He's saying use ALL your windows to make your brushes, and they won't get all screwy.
