Perhaps your render mode is not set properly? Or the FX amount, or something...

There are no controls for the properties of the sprites in the properties of the func_tank - it just suddenly started going all opaque one day, without any foreign unfluence - shall I try reinstalling Op4?

nah, I would say it has something to do with how you set up the rendering thing, like RotatorSplint said

I just played the original Op4 - its doing it there as well - with func_tanks that never used to have the problem, and that i have had no influence in

It is also doing it with the displacer balls coming out of the displacer gun - what hte fuck?

Any ideas?

Thoroughly check your graphics options; you may have it set on a mode that renders it improperly. I know that you claim to have done nothing to cause it, but try this anyway, and see if we can find a temporary fix for it if it ends up being something else.

Other than that, I'm stumped.

Do you have the problem with any other sprites? Did you recently install new video drivers?

I just tire HL1 - its fine there - very interesting - i have a few custom-made sprites (by me incidentally) in my op4 folder - might that be the cause?

Ill try copying my settings from HL into Op4 and see what that does - if not, ill reinstall it and see if i hit lucky

It might be a problem, if they're using the same names as the original sprites.
