I just played the demo (1.17GB) of C&C3, and it was fantastic. I don't buy games at full price very often, but I will be pre-ordering it after playing the demo. Finally, EA has brought us a decent C&C game, after Westwood made Tiberian Sun. The interface is the classic style of all units though a side menu, instead of having to click barracks etc, and there are none of those fucking annoying 'builder' units like the dump trucks and hobos in generals.

highly recommend the demo, at least. if you cant download that much im sure you can get it in a gaming magazine soon or on a disk for free from an ebgames store.

and its about time we got some FMV back into the series, and there are tons of well known actors in them, including Kane, of course, the people who played Dr Cameron in House, Sawyer in Lost, the commander in Starship Troopers, and two people from Battlestar Galactica

oh, and the buildings getting destroyed is really cool! :D
it also doesnt need that much resources, it runs medium graphics at 1024x768 on my 2 year old 6600GT, 4 year old P4, with 1GB ram.

All Hail the Mighty Kane!

the commander in Starship Troopers
I assume you mean Michael Ironside. He's in a load of video games.. in which people just know him as Sam Fisher. C&C3 is one of the few strategy games i've ever been excited about.

I played it yesterday... on my laptop (PC kinda died, well, the cooling holder that is) and it ran perfectly smooth with Texture Detail on max, but everything else on low/off.
Buildings and units look really cool and the FMV's are even cooler. :D
One thing that annoys me though is the left/right clicking. In previous C&C games, rightclick cancelles orders, deselect units etc, while left click starts building proccesses, order units to move to the desired location etc. This has been switched in the demo. Pain in the butt.

Im still gonna get the full version. I pre-ordered the Kane Edition. :D

In the name of Kane!

yeah, the clicking was a bit annoying, i thought it was just that i havent played C&C in a while. perhaps the full version will have an option to switch it.

i will pre-order tomorrow or friday :D
the date i have written down is 29/3, is that right?

She (Robin Maxwell) gave birth to two babies, a reptilian one, and a normal human looking baby with Visitor characteristics (named Elizabeth, a.k.a. the Starchild), such as spitting venom. The Reptilian baby died due some kind of bacteria, but this bacteria was also found in Elizabeths body, but it didn't harm her. Accoding to Juliet Perish, this could be the weapon to fight the visitors: a bacterial weapon the Visitors have no defence against. It was later revealed that this bacteria was unharmfull to humans. This bacteria, dubbed "The Red Dust" was then used to raid the Visitor motherships and eventually kick the Visitors off the Earth.

You gotta see the final part of V: The Final Battle, it is in my opinion the best bit.

Ok, back to C&C3.

In Skirmish, the demo only allows you to play has GDI, with AI Personality set to Balanced, right?

Wrong.

With a little trickery, you can play as Nod with any AI Personality. Here's how:

Select Nod as your army by left clicking once. Now, hit the N key on your keyboard to confirm your selection. Do the same with the AI Personality: click once on the desired AI Personality, then hit the first letter of that personality on your keyboard:

R - Rusher
T - Turtle
G - Guerilla
S - Steamroller

Don't try to play as the Scrin since the demo does not contain its units and it may crash the game. Nod works fine though.

Still, they could have thrown in multiplayer support. It's not uncommon in demos.

LOL! I geuss Saribous means that there's no multiplayer support in the demo. Thats cheap. Not as in: The game's cheap. ;) :glad:
