What's up with all these surf maps recently?
I don't get it. What's so good about 'em?

I think surfing in CS is really fun, but still - normal hot maps would be more interesting, Ive not played a single surf map from the map vault.

what do you do in a surf map anyhow. I presume : surf. But how?

You slide around. That's it.

the brushes are clipped at an angle which allows players to slide down the side of them without falling off by strafing against the slope.

It's neither fun nor pretty.

I thought it was fun for a while since it was something new and witty but little charms like this die out very fast.

Oh and the maps I played were very poor...There is one good surf map by Alex Royce.

Why? Well, because they're all by the same guy, so yeah, that kinda explains it, hm?

Yeah, like Habboi said, surf maps are fun for about the first 3 days; then they get boring as hell.

I've played about 4 surf maps. One of them had, literally, 4 textures. Ass ugly.

the worst part is if you die, you get to watch other people jump around for 5 minutes trying to find each other.

I've always preferred Kreedz over surf.
There are some decent-looking surf maps out there, but the whole idea is pretty boring.

What I would like to know is who came up with Surf maps...I'd like to either say well done for coming up with something new or slap him for encouraging people to make bad maps...

Yeah, but then I feel like that about the CS maps that have been overloading the vault over the past year - utter crap. If you check the first pages of the vault... in the beginning, 80% of them were SP HL, you know, good 'ole well mapped, well thought out, well designed single-player maps.

Ok, so they weren't released that frequently, but now there's a new CS map added virtually EVERY day, and then there's always the members who join after a while at another mapping website and post 20 of their shit CS maps at once. What with most people playing CS:S now, these maps are wasted. People may dl them to try, but in the end only a select few are EVER good enough for everyone to play.

Bring back HL SP Maps - That's what this community needs... I think?

I vote yes
My computer votes no.
I'm moving to half life 2 sp as soon as i can get photoshop to make some textures because the default hl2 texture pack blows.

Did i mention that the default hl2 texture pack blows?

You mean... you don't remember the password to your Steam account? HL2 and CS:S don't use CD keys.

If so, then that sucks :
