I have a problem with compiling (again). For some reason when it compiles it shows all the signs of a leak ("there was an error compiling the map"), except on bsp, which says that it couldn't find any of the wads (yes, I have tried resubmitting the wads). But there IS NO LEAK!!! Any help?... At all?... And are the "non-existant" wads (that I know exist) the problem? :(

the wads have to be in the game's mod folder (half-life/valve) for hammer to find them during compile..

It's possible that you have Hammer in let's say (C:) and the wads in (D:), that could made Hammer unable to find the wads even if you can use them in the editor. And that "there was a problem compiling the map" could be a whole lotta things ye know.

Did you just happen to make a sky :thefinger: BOX :thefinger: and forgot to hollow it out?

Did you set up Hammer for CS and later created a new configuration for maybe HLDM and then forgot to put the hlbsp.exe etc. in the right place?

Well, that explains the wads, but... all the map is is a hollow box with a info_player_start in it. And the only config I have on this particular computer is Half-Life.

In the compile log, did it actually say that there's a leak in the map?

Umm... no... hang on... no... Basicly all it says is that the wads can't be found and that hlbsp, hlrad and hlvis don't work because "there was an error compiling the map". :

Check the hlbsp.exe hlvis.exe etc. It might be an error in the names.

Like when I copypasted the path and forgot to change the names so I had 4 hlbsp.exe :P

Got it! For some dumb, dumb, incredibly dumb reason, copying the wads into where hammer was and using them, it works. But I don't see how missing the wads stopped rad, vis and bsp from working at all.

hlcsg needs those WADs, so if they aren't found... well, then it doesn't work, and all the stages after that don't work either.
