ok so i just recently got the newest version of hammer editor and i made a test map and i went to test it out in CSS and got an error
"CModelLoader::Map_IsValid: 'test_map' is not a valid BSP file
map load failed: test_map not found or invalid"....please help i tried making multiple maps and this is the only problem i have any sugestions? :(

Nah doesn't matter if you run VIS and RAD or not (in this case).

You're using the wrong compile tools.

(Either that or you're mapping for HL1 and just posted this in the wrong forum)

If you look at the directories, you can tell he's got the game set up for Counter-Strike: Source, yet he's trying to use ZHLT to compile.

Yeah I realised when I read the log properly. I just skimmed it first time and had a guess --- which meant I needed an 'out' in case I was wrong. :P

I guess I should just be more confident :D

so i should not use the hlxxx tools for compiling for CS? : will that fix the BSP problem?

For source games, you need to use the source compile tools. Which come with the latest version of Hammer (v4)

ok so i use the qrad, vis, qbsp, qcsg for CS maps to fix my problem with the BSP?

Personally I use vbsp.exe, vvis.exe, and vrad.exe.

They are the default compile tools for Hammer v4.

You are using Hammer 4, right?
