Far cry -

It's a good game, but I'm not sure if I could keep playing. I got about half way through and it got kind of boring to me. The plot is kinda weird, too. I mean c'mon, you get to an island, your ship blows up, then this black guy calls you up and is like "Now this is the story all about how, my life got flipped, turned upside down. And Id like to take a minute just sit right there, Ill tell you how I became the prince of a town called bel-air. In west Philadelphia born and raised, on the playground where I spent most of my days; Chilling out, maxing, relaxing all cool, and all shooting some b-ball outside of the school. When a couple of guys who were up to no good, started making trouble in my neighborhood. I got in one little fight and my mom got scared, and said you're moving with your auntie and uncle in bel-air."

I kinda agree. Farcry's story is a bit dumb.

But I think the AI is absolutely fantastic on the 'realistic' difficulty setting. And good artificial AI is far harder to get right than a storyline.

I really did enjoy finishing the game on realistic.

But I wouldn't do it all again.

That's where HL2 wins. I didn't enjoy it quite as much as Farcry the first time. But I can replay it again and again, and still enjoy it as much as the first time.

Thats part of the reason why I map for HL2, and not Farcry, even though Crytek's engine is damn pretty.

Metal Gear Solid - Sons of Liberty -

Another good, but kinda stupid story one. You go to a boat and you're trying to take pictures for god knows what reason, and somehow you don't die because apparently the Marines are too stupid to check the locker you're hiding in, even though you're clearly knocking on the wall to get attention. Some stuff is funny, like when you can get in a box, but other than that, the story is retarded. Especially the end, where it does all that "Fission Mailed" crap. Alls it does is give you a headache and leave you wondering why you spent 50 bucks on a game where you go into a room and see a cut scene that lasts 30 minutes, and have some guy tell you "They did the mash, they did the monster mash. The monster mash, it caught on in a flash."

MGS2 just annoyed me because of the sheer amount of cutscenes in it. I enjoy watching a story unfold...but jeez

Ah come on...I love gameplay but I think MGS needs those cutscenes because there is a lot to be told. But games like HL2 do it right because you follow the story and play at the same time.

Cabela's Off-road Adventure 3 (CORA 3) -

I love the idea - driving around for once and not racing. Its cool working out how to climb a hill without using NOS or whatever, doing real upgrades to your truck which you actually use such as a winch.

It works as an off-road adventure game... despite being somewhat outdated... but, it just takes too long to earn money to buy good trucks so you get bored, and in the end... and of the missions are just driving around to different locations. Now I grant I can't really think of how they could implement something else, but imo it gets boring pretty quick. Also, the vechicles damage to easily.

Btw, has anyone ever played it before?.... what do you think

I finished playing all the games I've ever owned, except for "No One Lives Forever 2: A Spy in HARM's Way".

The gameplay got really reptitive, and I hate the infinite re-spawning of enemies once the alarm is triggered type of gameplay.

Damn it! Once I killed someone, that should be the last I heard from the guy. No more re-spawning.

Unreal II: The Awakening.
I played it back in 2003, and I know the graphics were outstanding for it's time, and some of the scenarios were really breathtaking. But the game itself had very little else to make it special. I don't think I ever played any of the levels more than once, unless it was to show someone how nice my geforce4 was.

FarCry and GTA3 had too much freedom for me, so I eventually stopped playing. I don't have them anymore...

The Legend of Zelda, Ocarina o Time. While this one was heralded as the best game ever, I really got bored once the dynamics of the game were clearly established: Go into a dungeon, solve the puzzles, beat the boss and get the item. Repeat several times. While some effects like the twisting corridors were definately great, the game felt too arcade-y for me, such as leaving a room and then finding the monsters (some with fixed paths) had respawned on my return. That and the retro-like sounds whenever you picked something up or solved a riddle. I loved hyrule field, the sunrise/sunset.

far cry really sucks. like, mega bad.

myself, i have a strong dislike for realistic racing games. cmon, if some guy runs into me at full speed, why should my engine explode? NFS FTW, when it comes to racing (i dont consider GTA racing)

also, dawn of war. it may be a good game, but the mechanics of it are mighty confusing, and having to fight for resources sucks.

Plus you can the army after you. How cool isn't that?!
Most incoherent post you've ever made.

Doom 3.

I know most people absolutely hate it, and I know it's not original, but I enjoyed it somewhat. I don't believe it's anywhere near as bad as people make it out to be. It's sort of on-par with Far Cry.. a brain-dead, but easy to play game for when you're bored.
