Hi - I'm trying to find the Op4 map that has the tank that shoots at you.

I'm doing a DOD map and want to have stationary panzars where the tops will rotate and shoot at the allies.

Any help? :)

You mean that map was included with the original game? Otherwise, we'd have a snowball's chance in hell of finding it, especially with that inadequate description.

in the .pak files or the .gcf files depending on if you use steam or not.
Ther are only bsps though so you will need to decompile them making them more or less useless for anything other than seeing how valve did it.

Yeah, you could copy the entity properties or something, but otherwise I don't see much use in it. Just learn how to make a func_tank (I'm assuming this is what you're looking for, but I can't picture a tank shooting at you in Opposing Force.)

there is one place I think. I forget the chapter name though and have even less an idea of what the file name is lol

I dont think, there was a tank sequence in op4. Also, why would a tank shoot you in op4...you are on the same side. And since Black Ops can't have a tank. Yea...I'm pretty sure there isn't any tank in op4.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking too Sajo. Closest thing to that was the place where you were out in the field and there was a black-op up there with that giant rocket launcher thingy.

oops my bad - I meant blue shift - its the part of the game right after you have a big battle with the grunts in the exterior train yard with the mounted machine gun.

Right, that's just a func_tank. I believe we have a tutorial on that entity here.

The Entity Guide is there for a reason. Search before you post.

Yea... that was going to be my second guess :P
That is an entity called op4mortar. (Very cool entity :combine: )

I think he is not talking about the mounted machine gun, when you kill the grunts with the mounted machine gun. You get to a place where a tank on a train fires at you.

It's a func_tankmortar. (not saying this to be a smartass. Just correcting) Search it in "The Entity Guide" like Daubster said.

Sajo's got it right - it's just after the mg fight through the tunnel.

Yea - I read the tut on that already I just wanted to rip the map so that I can see how they did it to also incorporate the destructabilty if of it with the rocket launcher and the rendering of it in flames.

It's a really complicated sequence entity wise and I wanted to see If I can make it work in DOD.

I'm working on a cannon for DOD but right now it isn't woking - it won't move or shoot.

So if someone knows how/where to find it - I'd Appreciate it.

I can't seem to find the maps - does anyone else know?

I'm trying to find dod_escape and other maps on my machine can play them on steam but do a search of my machine and I get nothing - does anyone know where they are hiding?

In the GCF. Sigh.

Also, I'm pretty sure that area you mentioned with the tank is in Blue Shift, in the area with the trains.

I also assume that the games I play on steam are somewhere on my machine - ie - I can play dod_escape and can make the game cause it's in my lists but I can't find it via a search of my machine - I assume it's hiding with the other ones - am I correct.

The content is in the GCF (Game Cache Files) file.
1) Open GCFScape
2) Open desired game's .GCF (for instance steamappscounter-strike.gcf)
3) Find the maps folder
4) Find the map you want

It's not really that hard.
