Hello everyone.

Although I managed to compile maps properly without any error, I could never see the lighting changes I made after loading the BSP file. I also downloaded the example files in the lighting tutorials on this site, but I still get the same results after compiling. I always see it in default state (without light_environment or any light entities).

However the other maps that are installed with Counter strike display correct lighting.

What could be the problem? :

Have you compiled the VIS and RAD?

well if you paste your compile log, someone can spot the problem right away in these situations.

did you create the light entity inside a wall?
if you did, just drag it away from the wall a few units

Either you have a leak or you've turned off RAD.

The reason was because I did not compile the RAD. Thanks Spike! :)

You are welcome. The use of VIS is to reduce poligons that you see so it increase your FPS. And RAD's use is for lighting the map.
