ok heres what i want to do.

i want to be running around a corridoor then trigger something that will make an enemy run up behind me, i want the stalking enemy tho to move into the shaddows and then disapear to make the player check out the dark area. Can you do this ?

This sounds like it would be difficult to do. Monsters don't always do what you want, when you want. How about placing an ambient_generic in the shadows so that it plays the sounds of the monster. Then use a monstermaker to spawn the monster in the shadows after the player has checked out that area.

the idea is is that you turn round and catch a glipse of something and are not sure what it is...in fact the best way to dio it would be to have the thing infront of you and at a distance.
