I followed skeeve's tutorial but it didn't work

It opened Halflife but just went to the main menu

I tryed to start a NEW GAME but that was just normal HL?

Whats wrong.

This is My Run Command
C:SIERRAHalf-Lifehl.exe + map valley

BTW the space between '+' and 'map' shouldn't be there.

is it for a mod?

C:SIERRAHalf-Lifehl.exe + map valley
Should be C:SIERRAHalf-Lifehl.exe +map valley
as Anthony said.
You can check this by clicking console and typing +map valley

This will check that after compiling, your valley map actually went into the Valve maps folder.
If you get a Map not found error, then your compile setup is wrong.

www.steampowered.com

You'd know if you were using it.
C:SIERRAHalf-Lifehl.exe + map valley
This is all correct with the exception of the space before "map". It should just be +map NOT + map.

Handy developer codes:

god- godmode
noclip- fly through walls, etc
impulse 101- all weapons & ammo
impulse 102- spawns giblets & blood
impulse 103- shows monster stats while looking at monster
impulse 104- list global entities
impulse 105- silent player
impulse 106- model /sprite stats, while looking at target
impulse 107- shows texture name, while looking at object
impulse 195- AI mode on
impulse 203- delete monster you're aiming at

developer 1 - developer mode on
developer 2 - verbose developer mode - very useful
developer 0 - developer mode off
