i have been trying to test shadows in open areas messing with the pitch and using a light enviroment. but i am getting some areas that a player goes into and turns completely black. this is my setting on the entity:

angles 0 0 0
pitch -145
light 255 255 128 75

what am i doing wrong here? should i use a light spot instead? anyway here are 3 screenshots. 2 of bad light and one of me stepping out of the bad area. should be noted that the custom santa suit in the pics is not the problem as i had it before i put him in the server. thanks

Try moving the light source higher up into the sky. Above the general playing area of the map.
If you're using a light_environment, try switching to a light_spot with Light from sky set to : yes.
And vice-versa for spot --> environment.

Compile with Vis on -full
Compile with Rad on -extra
Or... you can just put an alternate light source at that spot. Like a light post or something.

Try changing the pitch value to something over -90 and see how that works. Also, you might want to change your Yaw value for more interesting effects.
