I suggest that you google it.
I did and I found loads of stuff,
but since I don't have Vista I couldn't pick one result for you.

This seems less of a problem with Hammer or other programs, and more of a Vista-related error. That said, I think you'd have better luck with this one on a tech-support forum or something rather than a Half-life forum.

But who knows? I think we have a Vista user somewhere among us...

oh, check your RAM. i had problems like this before, I fixed it by removing a stick of ram (faulty, but memtest didn't pick it up)

Hahaha, what?

He obviously meant 4GHz dual core. Probably overclocking it.
And the hard drive spins at 7200 rpm, which is mroe or less the standard speed.

4GHz dual core
Dual core running at 4 ghz =)) I don't believe you. I think you have the firemen in you house with such an overclocked processor .
Anyway , tell us the exact specification of the processor , so I can believe you .

Perhaps he's referring to the sum of both cores, ie 2 ghz each. This revelation calls for a smiley... Let's see... Ah, this one will do. :nya:

the dual core is 2 ghz each but if u plus em u get 4ghz and i wud change to xp if xp cud use all my ram 4gig i think it only can use about 3 gig

well thanks enyway

just so you know you never refer to dual core CPU frequency by adding the frequencies of all the cores, it's the one frequency you use, in your case you have a dual core 2ghz CPU.
and XP can handle up to 4GB RAM.

A 2GHz dual core chip != a 4GHz chip. Unless you have some AMAZING, super efficient form of load-balancing, the only advantage to having a dual-core is having less performance degradation whilst multitasking (or when working with multithreaded apps, but the gain is nowhere near the same as comparing a 2GHz chip to a 4GHz chip). You're not going to see any notable raw speed increase. If you run ONE single threaded application on a 2GHz dualcore chip, it'll be roughly the same performance as if you were to run it on a 2GHz singlecore chip, not a 4GHz one. [/rant]

Hmm... after giving this whole thread a thorough review, I have come to the conclusion that the problem you are experiencing seems to be caused by the fact that you are perusing the operating system Vista. LOL!

Well, obviously, but I like to make fun of people's English anyway. :P

Still the dual core thing was pretty funny.

Maybe its just 2 x 2.0ghz cores? Because normally overclockers know the difference between rpm and the average speed that geese fly during the winter...
