i am having a hard time getting a sink in my map. there is a half life based model called sink_small.mdl that would be perfect but i cant get the bastard to stop vanishing. any time i put something close to it so you cant just walk through it vanishes. this is the only model im having this problem with, the toilets work fine. any ideas?

Do clip brushes make it disappear? Seems to me they do, can't remember though. Ag3nt-X's method would probably work, I think that's how I've done it before.

Any brush that completely covers something will make it dissapear. If you make the egdes of the model stick out it won't.

No, clip brushes shouldn't make the model disappear. If the models origin is inside a wall, it will cause the model to disappear, if the models origin is way off from the model, it will cause the model to disappear.

The model is only drawn if the "engine" can see the models origin. Its hard because on some models, the origin is in an unusual spot. When you click on the model in hammer, the red x is the models origin, make sure that is not inside a wall.

Hey Aaron. I agree. But every model inside an entity brush wouldn't disappear. Srsly, done about 5 tests with it.

It depends on what brushed based entity it is, what its render fx settings are and if it moves or not ;).
