Okay, my problem is sort of hard to explain. I have a cylinder which I would like to texture with a beer label texture I have. But when I select two faces of it and apply the texture and fit it, it isn't right. BUT if I go to two of the sides on the back and do the same, it fits perfectly. And if I set it to world on the front one, it works but its backwards, as soon as its set to face it is off by a little. If you do not understand my problem, I have taken a hypercam recording, maybe that will help, but I am not sure where to upload a video onto TWHL.

When you've selected both faces make sure treat as one checkbox is checked? hit face checkbox if it's backwords.

I have tried that, it doesn't work.If I could show the hypercam video you would see what I mean. But I found a short term solution, I re did my texture but reversed it, and used one for one side, and the other for back side. But I was going to make alot of bottles, so if someone could come up with something that doesn't result in a huge wad I would be grateful.

Maybe upload the original bottle to problem maps. I'll look at it for you.

i guess i don't really know what you mean unless you mean you want to wrap 1 texture around the whole cylinder. In that case, it might be better to use 2, but i'm no texturing wiz.

Rimrook if your listening is this possible to easily do in Hammer texturing?

yes

align and adjust one face, then select it and hold alt and right click a face connected to it. Hammer will align the face you clicked with the one selected. select that face, hold alt and right click the next one. you can go around until you meet your starting spot. It should work.

Alternatively, flatten the object sideways, so it looks like a square pancake standing up. Then select all the faces on one side and set to world or to face, whichever, and check "treat as one" and fit. Do the same on the other side and then return the object to it's normal size.
