I think it's time to learn to use your journal. A lot of this stuff isn't topic worthy D:

He just bought Ep1 and wants to talk about it! This is a perfectly healthy topic for general banter :)

To esmajor: Why didnt you have Ep1 already?!

Correct Luke is correct. Use the journals.

You should've just bought the Orange Box. :)

Ep1 is better than HL2 but not even close to Ep2. Ep2 is epic win.

I could have sworn this thread was closed. Maybe I'm seeing things. :\

I played Ep1 right to the end, in about 3 hours, the first day I got it, I was excited to see the continuation of the HL story. I've only replayed it twice since then, and I don't expect to do so any more times.

i assume you mean directx 8 tet, because the highest version of dx that source uses is dx9.

Ah, good old EP 1. I still remember the ending. That was epic.

No spoilers please :D

Well, I hadnt had HL2 working for a while. If you research some of my old forum postings, I had serious crash issues upon execution of the game files..... even SDK would crash. So I gave up for a while.

Orange box was too much money for me hehe. One step at a time I say. And I'm enjoying the game so far. It's a ncie lil break from my GMOD addiction

The orange box would have been a better deal,

Tf2,Hl2,ep1,ep2,portal, all for $40.00 (I think?)

There isn't much to spoil. Guess what? NOTHING GETS RESOLVED. Valve makes brilliant gameplay, but the actual story is frustrating :/ At least Ep2 has that epic battle at the end.

Now go make more campaigns for L4D like a good developer, Valve!!

The last Ep3 must be close to release now, Ep2 didn't take very long to be released after Ep1. After which, then who knows!

I wouldn't hold your breath on getting Ep 3 any time soon:

Apparently they WILL be releasing new Left4Dead content over time, like with TF2. But that probably won't start until early 2009 :(

It's kinda funny that by 2010 Source will be a six year old game engine and will probably look completely outdated, no matter how much it's souped up.

har har har! thats funny!

It looks outdated now, but it's besides the point. It's becoming a much more stable and much more stylised engine with every update, and it suits Valve's design goals perfectly.
